To Larry Johnson's career in Kansas City. He is being barred from coming to team activities. Whether through trade or release where do you believe he will end up and who do you believe the Chiefs will get to replace him?

What are the financial ramifications if they cut him now?

Icness reports he's going to be released.

Where do you guys think he'll end up?

He's only 29 years old. I know he's not been very good this year, but maybe if he gets in the right situation with a more talented team, he can be more productive. Sort of like Cedric Benson to a lesser extent.

uh oh, this is where the patriots swoop in. take a player who is perceived as old and washed up. and take his game to another level as well as their teams success higher.

remember that 'ol bengal runningback?

I know Philly could use him as a big RB to take the pressure off Westbrook and the rookie Mccoy.

I could see LJ with New England. It's not like we couldn't use him.

The story behind my story...

I was talking to a Chiefs staffer about something else, actually trying to find out the exact picks that were traded to MIA for the linemen. I just offhand asked about the LJ suspension and he really went into it. After about 5 minutes I asked him if I could make some things he said public, that the team was going to release LJ once the league investigation was completed. At first he said no, but then he said that it's not really any big surprise and gave me the okay. I asked him if he was positive it was going to happen and he said, "If Larry Johnson plays for this team again, it won't be for Todd Haley. We're done with him, period."

I have a real hard time seeing anyone take a shot at him this year. Dude is a serious pariah; notice how no teammates EVER have his back...that's for a good reason. Nobody likes him and he wants it that way. He's approaching 30 with a lot of miles and some injury history, he's averaging less than 3 yards per carry and runs with zero passion anymore, and he's a world-class jackass. The closest comparison I can think of is Corey Dillon, but he was in better shape and had the kind of attitude that could be turned around by a change of scenery. He just hated his owner, as do almost all Bengals. I really don't see that with LJ, though honestly I've never met him personally.

Some team like New England might take a run on him for cheap. Other then that, no idea.

Why would the Patriots take him? I could see them taking him if RB was an issue for them but they are very set at that position with Kevin Faulk, Laurence Maroney and Fred Taylor. So I highly doubt he is going to the Patriots. There is simply no way they need him. I could see him going to maybe the Bears or Eagles who have an actual need at RB right now. I do not see Larry Johnson wanting to go to a team where he would get no carries.

Any team that takes him is stupid. Not only is he the biggest cancer in the league, but he also sucks at football now and has injury problems.

Wildcard----Houston. Kubiak mentioned LJ and his disappointment with the current stable.

I really dont see him going anywhere. He cant pass block and he isnt a great receiving back. Not to mention his injuries and attitude.
