Thoughts on Chad Henne

Post#1 » by Flash3 » Thu Dec 17, 2009 3:10 am

After 13 QBs over the past 10 years, Miami seems to have finally found its "QB of the future." -- What are your guys thoughts on Chad Henne currently and the type of QB he can become after a few more seasons under center?

Chad Henne has played exceptional for his first year under center for the dolphins. He has gone through some ups and downs with his mstakes but he is still young and will learn how to improve them I'm sure of it. I think Miami is thanking Chad pennington for getting hurt once again bc with out him getting hurt I don't think that Miami would even know what henne can or could do. He will be a affectve QB in the NFL and one that can help out miami win for a long future

He's looked good when I see him. I haven't seen him enough to explain his paltry stats.

I thought he was terrible coming out, but he is NFL ready a lot faster than I expected, and he has nice upside. I like his future.

IIRC his stats are so menial because the offense is so focused on Wildcat running.

Henne has done very well but I wonder if Sparano is willing to open up the playbook for him next year. That would be for the betterment of the Dolphins, but I wonder if he can commit to it.

Miami has to thank Pennington for not only getting hurt (ironically), but also for coming to the team last season and not only changing the team's culture with the new regime, but also teaching Henne what it takes to be a QB in this league. Henne hardly played last season at all, but he did work out with Pennington every day, and still does a few times a week even with Penninton hurt this season.

Pennington will make for one great coach one day, whether it be a QB coach or Off Coord, but he's going to make one hell of a coach....

I'm somewhat sure Kubiak can throw further than Pennington. Has he said anything about his future past his contract? If I'm not mistaken, he's a FA soon and he's not going to take Henne's spot.

This is good for Miami if they've finally found a OB of the future.

Best Dolphins QB since Marino!!!!!!!!!!

...oh, wait...

Seriously, I like Henne a lot. He looks poised in the pocket, he has a sufficient arm and he's not entirely immobile. With that offence centred on the two RBs, he's a good young guy to bring along.

Solid but unspectacular.

Miami is basically asking Henne what the Ravens asked of Flacco last year, and that is, to not lose the game for them.

^these past 2 games against the Jaguars and Patriots he was asked to throw the ball a LOT more than he has, and both resulted in wins via the passing game as opposed to the running games. but, yeah, they are def asking him to "manage" games....

Henne has been pretty good, largely doing what the team is asking him to do, and was great against my Pats I hate to say. Miami finally got their QB of the future.

I think he has a bright future ahead of him, as long as they keep up the solid protection and Ronnie Brown stays. He tore us up
