Week 15 Game Thread

After today's poor showing, I fully support Kubiak's resignation/firing. That's just inexcusable.

Barely, over the Rams. It took a late field goal to beat one of the worst teams in football.

A CB talks about Andre Johnson, one that sees Larry Fitzgerald twice a year:
“He can do it all,” Rams cornerback Ron Bartell said. “He’s got the size, speed, run after the catch, blocking, everything. There’s nobody in this league that compares to him.”

Crosby cost us the game. Dude sucks.

Also Jenkins missed a sack that would've ended the game.

Bill Cowher, come on down.
We watched the tragedy unfold. We did as we were told, we bought and sold. It was the greatest show on Earth...but then it was over.

That CAR win over Minny probably ensures that John Fox is back, which means Cowher to Houston is more likely.

The $.10 will be posted shortly, finished it last night. Some other thoughts:
--I really like the youngsters in the STL secondary and on the defense as a whole. They're a lot closer to being a good defense than most people think. Houston didn't exactly test them much but I thought the Rams did a great job of dictating the action.

--That Chad Henne INT is going to haunt the Dolphins all winter

--real classy of Jets fans to throw snowballs during the final moments. When Cleveland did that we never heard the end of it, but when New York does it nobody gives a crap. Nice double standard.

--another blocked extra point and some more short FGs missed. Bad year for kickers!

--To expound upon Chicago: That will be the worst team in the NFL next year, I'd put good $$ on it. They have no ability to draft the help they need, the org is too cheap to bring in big-ticket free agents, and they have less talent on offense than any other team in the league. And the offense is probably the strength of the team going forward. They're saddled with a fading, injured MLB and DT in an antiquated, figured-out scheme. They have one good CB, a halfway decent young safety, and a pretty good LB corps...assuming they don't trade Lance Briggs, their only real marketable commodity. Their QB is an INT machine, he can't handle zone blitzes and doesn't work with his limited talent at WR. Their feature RB is shot after being grossly overworked as a rookie. The best OL they've got is slipping fast. They remind me of Tampa this year except Tampa has a decent OL.

I'm honestly happy the Saints didn't complete another miracle comeback, as bad as I want to beat the Boys.

We need a reality check, and they need to know they are beatable.

Saw that as well and honestly couldn't believe nothing was made of it.

I mean, did the announcers not see it? Or did they say something and I just didn't hear it?

Hey Icness, about your impressions on the defensive rookies... Delmas had a historic game yesterday. Delmas is the only rookie in NFL history with a safety, interception and scores off a fumble recovery and interception.

Vikings suck outside and own inside play. They're averaging 31.4 points inside while allowing 15.6 points. Outside? 22.6 and 25.8. 9-0 indoors, 2-3 outside.

If they win next week at Chicago, they wouldn't have to play outside again until the Super Bowl. If they lose next week, they need help from the Eagles, or they could be playing at Lincoln Financial Field on January 17th, not a recipe for success.

The Skins are absolutely horrible. I honestly think they are the worst team in the NFL.

Good ol' Albert Haynesworth. once a turd, always a turd. He fit in nicely with the Titans.

If the Vikings don't beat the Bears next week, then they've got much bigger problems to worry about than where they'll be playing in the playoffs.

I don't think the Bears are that much worse than Carolina, and division play always ups it a notch. I think the Vikings will win next week, but I expect the Bears to bring it more than they've brought it all season, and if the Vikings snooze again, they could very well lose again.

The Bears are done. If they come within 14 points of a win, even against Detroit next week, Cliff Levingston will be surprised.

Cliff Levingston isn't sure that they'll be the worst team in the league next year like Icness predicts, but they'll be close. Even with a 1st round pick, that would likely happen as Angelo can't draft impact players in the 1st round. We're without a 2nd too which was given up for Gaines Adams, who is said to be a great fit for the Cover 2 which will be going away with Lovie either this year or next, so that's a wasted pick too. Our only hope is internal development and some big name free agents, but that won't happen either.
