Current players that will be future Hall of Famers

Post#1 » by HMFFL » Wed Dec 23, 2009 6:06 am

What players do you believe that are currently playing will make it to the HOF?

Let me get some of the obvious out of the way.

Brett Favre
Brett Favre
Randy Moss
Tom Brady

Peyton Manning
Ray Lewis
Tomlinson
Tony Gonzalez
McNabb
Jason Taylor?
Ronde Barber
Julius Peppers

I'd make a case for Pat Williams

There's a couple receivers I'd list, but they tend to get shafted.

Adam Vinatieri should be a lock. So many clutch kicks including 2 game winning super bowl kicks. Plus that 48 yarder to tie up the game against oakland in the snow was the best kick I've seen yet to date.

Doubt it.

Jason Taylor, maybe. But that's a long-shot.

I can't argue with McNabb.

Others:
Champ Bailey (lock)
Walter Jones (lock)
Antonio Gates (near lock)
Brian Urlacher (solid choice)
Ed Reed (solid chance)
Brian Dawkins (solid choice)
Richard Seymour (solid choice)
Drew Brees (could make it with a couple more seasons in NO like he's had recently)
Tory Holt (maybe)
Orlando Pace (maybe)

and then there's a good amount of young guys putting up big numbers that I could see making it if they continue their current success. Ware comes to mind.

How is TO not a HOFer? I know he was an ****, but he was a dominate force in the NFL.

And I sure missed some lineman on my list.

He's a WR, that's why I'm iffy. Is Isaac Bruce going in? Marvin Harrison?

McNabb? Roethlisburger? I like QB's too but I still think the resumes are TBD. Among active QB's Favre, Manning, Brady are locks. After that I'd argue Brees and Warner are higher on the "maybe" list that McNabb or Big Ben.

Ray Lewis is the only active LB who's going to the HOF, probably.

I'd wager on Adrian Peterson and Chris Johnson, but if their careers ended today they're not in yet.

As far as wide outs: Moss, TO, Harrison yes. Holt and Bruce? Not on my list anyway.

I think McNabb is in. 4 straight NFC Championships, 5 total with bad receivers most of the time.

.

Big Ben's got 2 Super Bowls already, that goes along way with voters. It might put him ahead of Brees with no Super Bowls.

Do you guys think Marvin Harrison gets in?(Serious question, people aren't really mentioning him, an I know he's not playing anymore, but I still consider him "active")
