Before the playoffs began, I was thinking how weird it would be if it was the Vikings vs the Jets in the Super Bowl (due to Favre basically ditching the Jets). It would be terrible for ratings but...it could happen.

However, if neither team makes it to the Super Bowl, when's the last time both #1 seeds made it to the Super Bowl?

Wow, what? It would be amazing for ratings, sadly.

The ratings would possibly be record breaking if it's the Jets vs. Minnesota. Brett Favre being the obvious boost, but Mark Sanchez is loved by so many, has ties to the West Cost, and the media will run with the rookie vs. a legend story.

Eh, I just think it would be bigger if it was Vikings vs Colts. Either way, Minnesota/Favre will be a huge boost to ratings..and pointless ESPN stories.

I hope the Colts and Vikings win.. That would be an amazing matchup for the Superbowl. Manning vs. Favre.

I'm picking the Vikings and Jets to be contrarian. I'm convinced this year's playoffs are so bizarre for picking that anything could happen.

The Jets in the Superbowl would be a ratings nightmare. Everyone would tune in to see Mark Sanchez... until they realize that his main role is to hand the ball to Jones and Greene.

I just made a friendly wager with a friend (woman) of mine, so I won't be able to support the Jets now. If the Jets beat the Colts, fine, but if the Jets win the super bowl I must take her to an upscale restaurant. The odds are in my favor, so I expect to win this.

The upscale restaurant goes both ways. She says "I have a feeling the Jets will win" so it went from there. We both had the Jets winning against the Chargers last week, so it was one of those cocky moments for her.

So wait, the upscale restaurant thing is happening either way? That's the important part.

why are people saying it would be terrible for ratings if the jets are in the superbowl? it's the god damn superbowl it's going to be watched regardless

I pay for it if the Jets win the Super Bowl. She pays if the Saints, Colts or Vikings win.

That works nicely. As much as I'm pulling for the Jets, they did go 9-7. I see the Colts over the Vikings somehow, but I desperately want Indy to lose.

studcrackers, I see where you're coming from with that one. It's not like it's the NBA Finals.

Vegas has us as favorites, but it seems like everyone is picking against us. Is this just me as a fan feeling like the world is against me and my team? Could be, someone tell me how the split looks so far.
