In fact, comparing Leinart's rookie season to the years just turned in by Mark Sanchez, Matthew Stafford and Josh Freeman shows Leinart threw for more yards, with a higher completion percentage and passer rating, and a better TD-to-INT ratio than all three of those 2009 rookies. And no one framed Sanchez, Stafford or Freeman as rookie-season failures.

Leinart never was a "rookie-season failure". What happend after that though was pretty bad.

look at the numbers. warner has a BIG payday comin to him. leinart has like 1 or 2 years left on his contract. play warner next year, and the future of that franchise is leavin town, gettin paid without playin any meaningful downs. thats 50 or somethin mil down the drain. good for leinart though.
