I keep Kemba out of spite if he's playing hardball on a buyout.

Diallo is quite a bit ahead of Hayes and CoJo can play backup PG so I think Hayes is more likely the odd man out if CoJo is still here.

It also hurts that Hayes, Diallo, Bagley, and Duren all are not shooters so its almost certain that its one of those four, and not CoJo, that falls out of the rotation to start the season because we're likely going to want shooting from Burks and Livers.

Obviously on the roster.
1. Cade
2. Bey
3. Stewart
4. Ivey
5. Duren
6. Bagley
7. Diallo
8. Livers
9. Burks
10. Bogdanovic
----
Most likely safe
11. Hayes
12. CoJo
13. Noel
14. McGruder - Just signed a contract, but could be Weaver doing him a solid getting him paid this season.
15. Kevin Knox - Was signed to a deal, but could see him not making the cut if he doesn't perform well & mesh with team

Days might be numbered
16. Kemba Walker - Was a rumored buyout candidate but wasn't able to secure a guaranteed deal elsewhere.

I see another 2 for 1 trade coming involving Kemba and Cojo or Hayes for 1 player
Defence Wins Championships,we need to return to the Bad Boy era.

I am not sure what your talking about when it comes to Hayes.

Hayes will be the primary backup PG on the team next year, period. I expect between 25-30mpg.

Diallo was a considerably better player than Hayes last year. Per 100 possessions Hayes had a -10.7 +/- which was worst on the entire team. Diallo was -7.9 so nearly 3 points better per 100 possessions than Hayes.

Diallo scored 23.9 points per 100 possessions.
Hayes scored 13.2 points per 100 posessions. (once again worst on team)
Cade scored 26.0 points per 100 possessions, so not that far ahead of the scoring rate Diallo was putting up, and Diallo was doing it much more efficiently than Cade. Diallo was actually our best "iso" player for most of the season and had a really high scoring % in the paint for a guard.

Killian Hayes was the 2nd worst rebounder (per 100 possessions) on the team ahead of only CoJo. Diallo averaged nearly twice as many rebounds per 100 as Hayes did.

Diallo also actually averaged more steals per 100 than Hayes. Lee was top, then Diallo 2nd, and Hayes 3rd so here they were close.

The only trait that Hayes has that really sticks out as being better than Diallo is his passing ability, which Hayes is a very good passer. But Hayes didn't work alongside Cade and if Ivey also is a guard that needs to get development time with the ball in his hands it could end up leaving Hayes the odd man out more likely than Diallo being the odd man out IMO. Diallo was for sure a bright spot for us last season where Hayes felt like he didn't really take the step forward most of us were hoping he would.

I think Killian gets his final chance this season. He needs to come into camp with some improved offensive skills. Yes, he is an apt distributor and a good defender, but that only takes you so far in the league. He MUST show some growth on the offensive end... a jumper, the ability to go right, improved accuracy from a 3-pt spot, SOMETHING.
The coaching staff will know pretty quickly if they don't already... Preseason is right around the corner.
Hayes has a $7.5m QO in 23/24. He ain't getting it unless he's secured a significant role in the rotation. This is a put-up or shut-up year for a number of our players. If Killian hasn't solidified himself in a meaningful role within the first month or two of the season, I'd put him toward the top of the "Who will be the first person traded this year" thread.

Don’t just break that record; pulverize it, grind it into a fine powder, and toss it into a blast furnace.
