Duren's easily the best rebounder the Pistons had since Drummond he will be an important piece goin forward.

Seeing some of the other young guys around the league putting up some impressive stat lines and then seeing what our guys have done its a bit underwhelming for sure. I know I know its just preseason... but it would still be nice to see one of them drop 25+ efficient points in one of these exhibition games. It feels like things have been coming hard for our offense would love to see some easy buckets tonight.

Well, killian did his best - 20/7 with only 1 turnover and 8/13 shooting.

Here's hoping Cade is working out his early season shot issues during the preseason and we won't see a start to the season like the one we saw last year.

Ivey gets a pass on inefficiency for the time being.

Good job Killian. Now try to do it more than once.

Missed the game, but Hayes stats look impressive. *shrug* Good for him.
The Bagley thing sucks, but big picture not sure it matters that much.
And definitely not worried about Cade.

Excited for 3 guard line-ups if Killian keeps the confidence

Had no one made those suggestions before he turned pro?[/quote

Well, the 2 off seasons in question are when he was 19 and 20. I'm sure his middle school coach probably talked it up, but these were his first 2 legit off seasons to work on specific skills and it looks like he put in the time. That's what you are hoping for in a young, raw prospect.

Middle school coach? He played pro ball overseas.

As others have mentioned, this was the best night we've seen from Hayes in his career. Head scratcher on those 3 missed FTs he's been worse on those in this short Preseason but I'm sure he'll get back to 80+%. I said after the first preseason game, I'd be super happy if he gives us games like that (about 5 of 11 and a dozen points with a few assists and low TOs).... anything more than that is a huge bonus for the bench core.

You can certainly tell that Killian is playing with more confidence, hopefully is carries over to the regular season. Killian was so shell shocked when he came into the league and then the injuries and his offense didn't seem to improve at all from year one to year two.... so its impressive for sure what we've seen from him in these few games as far as him taking a decent step forward this year as a player.

It’s 2027. Cade and Ivey have led the pistons to the NBA finals against the 75-7 OKC thunder led by Victor Wenbayama and Chet. Killian Hayes is averaging 2.2 ppg and fans are wondering why Weaver and head coach Buddy Boheim are so adamant about keeping him around. However, like he does every time he plays against OKc, Killian balls out and the Pistons win in 5.

Cade Cunningham missing and not seen for two pre-season games. If seen please contact your local authorities.

I hope this was not just a fluke and not a product of weak competition, because Killian Hayes was great and as much I have been hating to watch him the past 2 seasons if this was not a fluke, he could be a legit piece for us in the future.

It was not only the scoring. He did some good plays, he had no idea how to run an offense, but this game, he actually did a great job creating for his teammates, not just cute passes to cutting guys, he actually created, something unthinkable if you have been watching him play.

Please be this player from now on, we need it badly.

Cade clearly doesn't want to play but on defense he tried hard, so at least there's that, but on offense, he couldn't care less. I got really mad in a play, I think Duren had the ball inside, he kicked it outside for Cade, and Cade was paying 0 attention, the ball went past him and out the side line, like WTF, that's insulting.

Can these Pistons be bothered to score or are we to have another season of 115-95 losses?

I think this thread would be more aptly titled Hot Takes after a Pre-Season Game, Part 3

i'm a little concerned with cade's 3s. it looks like he's not getting his legs into his catch and shoot 3s which was a problem last season. hopefully it's just him being lazy in preseason but it hasn't looked good.
