Given this was known issue when he was in HS and since, I probably wouldn't have drafted him given it was supposedly so close with Green.

Excuse me, but what the **** is he talking about? So how major was this "knee" surgery that he got on his shin?

And why was he so worried that it would be an "extension recovery"? Didnt the Pistons PR team tell us all he had some minor leg issue that needed a teensy thing on his shin.

Turns out guy needed to get his leg re-attached ahaha. Same ole Pistons?

Edit here is NBA.com

"He is also in good spirits because he is completely pain free roughly one month after season-ending surgery to stabilize and promote the healing of a stress fracture in his left tibia."

"Cunningham took his time in deciding the best course of action since the procedure would be the first major surgery he had experienced.

“I didn't know how to go about it,” Cunningham said. “I trusted my legs; God gave me these legs. I was nervous about it, but just over the past few weeks where I've been able to see the progression in my knee and how everything's been healing up, I don't regret it at all.”

The stress fracture could have been high in the tibia close to the knee and to Cade it just felt like the pain was in his knee.

Gives us some flexability in a smaller trade, or perhaps if a younger player gets waived (likely by a team signing a different waived vet in the buyout market and needing to make space so they cut a young guy loose) and we really want them we could offer more than the minimum for them in the buyout market.
