Hayes once again is dead last in TS% in the entire league out off all 18+ MPG regular rotation players. He's awful shooting the ball inside. He's awful off the dribble. He's awful when contested. He's been ok when shooting 3s with 4+ feet of space between him and the nearest defender.

He's actually been worse this year than he was last year.

This season 44.9 TS%
Last season 46.1 TS%
Rookie season 42.2 TS%

Yeah, he was finding himself for a bit there but for the most part hasn't gotten back to his pre-Paris levels. Nice to see Beefstew hitting better from the outside last game. Great to see Haimi stroking it from the mid-range. If he can extend his game out from the basket a bit like that, that really helps him fit into more lineups offensively. I hope we find a way to re-sign him for cheap.

He's been terrible I thought maybe he was turning a corner but no. Bey was getting a lot of hate but he was much better than this.

Diallo being able to hit mid range jumpers consistently would be a BIG boost for this team. He defends fairly well, rebounds fairly well, and can dunk anything inside of 4 feet.

Like I posted previously, it seems to me like Bey's lack of defense being eliminated is tangible. The Pistons played a tight game against a team that has players who can give bad defenses fits; I could have easily seen this as a 118-130 loss with Bey starting.

If Stew can keep hitting 3's at a decent rate while taking the number of attempts he SHOULD take rather than jacking them up non-stop when he's not hitting them, I think he and Duren should remained paired together. That obviously puts Wiseman on the bench, seemingly paired with Bagley. I assuming there's a plan there. Obviously I don't do the "A championship team must have a distributing PG who is a knockdown 3PT shooter, a shooting guard who is a knockdown 3PT shooter, a SF who can slash to the rim and can shoot 3's at a higher than average rate, a stretch PF who can rebound well and shoot 3's at a higher than average rate, and a C who can attack the rim and shoot 3's at an average rate." It's not like there haven't been championship-level teams in the past with two guys operating mostly in the paint.

I'm curious to at least see how Wiseman and Duren look playing together. I wouldn't be surprised if we get a long look at it before the season ends.

Diallo is such an enigma. I kinda wanna see him consistently getting 26-28 minutes for the rest of the season just to see what he can do. On paper he doesn't really fit into any lineup, but somehow he always makes an impact. I'd be curoius to see how a good coach might try and better utilize him.

I kinda go back to what I've said before; I want to see us being more aggresive and gamble a bit more defensively. Overplay guys. Jump passing lanes. Gamble on steals. We suck defensively anyway, so do what you can to make the opposing team uncomfortable and get out in the open court. Ivey, Dially, Duren & Wiseman can all play downhill. Push the tempo.

Cade is going to have a major impact on our ability to execute in the half-court, but for the rest of this season let's just get out and run & gun. This might sound crazy, but I feel like Diallo could average 16-18 pts with like... no plays run for him if we just gave him some consistent minutes. Long term that might not be ideal... but what else are we doing with our season? Play the kid who plays the hardest.

Schematically one of the few things I've seen us do on defense this year that I thought was smart and effective was when we'd start sending hard doubles at the best player/primary ball handler on the other team. I think this is especially helpful if one of our weaker defenders is on him. They'd often whip the ball around and get an open shot, but it also felt like it was pretty effective a lot of times, especially when it was against a player who'd be torching us to that point.

Not being able to play Bojan and Bey together on defense anymore should definitely help our defense overall.

Would definitely love to see a lot of defensive focused line ups with Ivey, Diallo, Duren, Wiseman, and one other (Hayes maybe? Or Livers) that are all about playing tight defense, getting the rebound, and pushing it. Might as well take advantage of the young legs on the team. So sign me up for run and gun and then next season we can figure out a better half court offense with Cade, Bogie, and Burks as main cogs in that setting.
