Yes, there are issues with the tweet. Does he mean 2024/25 for the option year? Does he mean the rest of this season + next season? What kind of contract are we talking?

This season is the first year of the deal, we have an option for next season which is 23/24.

That's kinda what I thought. But there are literally 8 games left to the season. Calling it a 2 year deal is silly & misleading.

RJ Hampton got the same two year deal from us essentially.... which really just gives us the ability to lock those guys into minimum salary deals next year in case they play really well down the stretch of this season.

RJ's deal becomes fully guaranteed after the draft and after the start of FA, but likely right before summer league starts so if we end up liking other options in the 2nd round or other FA's or trades and need roster space we can cut them loose by July 6th 2023 and pay them nothing for next year. I'm guessing this deal will essentially be the same.

The CBA considers any number of games played in the remainder of a season to count as a season, both in general and for purposes of seniority.
