Although finding the best possible fit as coach is critical this offseason, I don't see it as an all or nothing long term proposition. We may very well see a coach that gets the team to being a playoff contender, then make a change to take it to the next level. As long as the next coach continues to improve the results and develops this team further I think the long term plan is working.
I'd consider the next coach pretty solid if they can get the team to the playoffs by year two. Even so, they may not be the best fit down the road, as veterans are added and the group matures.
Just like the draft and trades, I expect Weaver will surprise us. With Beilein and Casey on the staff as mentors, a younger developing coach like Stackhouse might be a fit, for now.
