I misunderstood what you said. If he played this way in the G-League after 3-4 years in the NCAA, that wouldn't be encouraging. As you said, though, not a possible scenario.
2) I thought Scoot shot 27.5% from 3 last year, which I find to be discouraging. Agree to disagree. 33% isn't very good either. Doesn't mean he can't improve.
That 27% only encompassed the regular season. 33% isn't frightening, especially for a player who attempted a lot of pull-ups.
3) I mostly agree with you, just saying that it's not as clear cut in my mind as it used to be, especially after seeing Saben Lee look so much better in G-League (best player on court?) than at Vanderbilt. Also, sometimes there are college teams with more talent than a G-League team, like how 1996 Kentucky had 9 NBA players on it. It'd be great entertainment to see the college champs play against the G league champs.
Saben did that well in the G-League after three years at Vanderbilt and a season in the NBA.
NCAA teams with more talent than the average G-League squad do exist, I'm sure, but rarely.
4) I get all of that about Scoot, which is why he's consensus #2 overall player in this draft class. And yeah, I also doubt he'd have much trouble at the NCAA level as a freshman. However, it does happen. Can't miss prospects miss all the time.
Given how he did this season for the Ignite, I think we can safely conclude that he'd have torched the NCAA.
