Yes, but Haliburton's potential contributions in his rookie season compared to Hayes' might have meant Detroit not being in position to draft Cade #1 overall in the next draft.

That might or might not have been a bad thing too. Its a bit too early to know for sure if haliburton or cade is the better leader and lead guard
