I sincerely hope the last 2 posts about Shaq is sarcasm that I'm not detecting.

I believe the former is. I fear the latter isn't.

For what it's worth, espn actually proposed at trade involving us and Zion a couple days after this thread was started. It won't likely change any opinions already expressed, (and Charlotte wouldn't do it), but here it is--

3-way trade Detroit, New Orleans, Charlotte

Pels get: Bojan, Stewart, #2

Hornets get: #5, #14

Pistons get: Zion

My concern with trading away Bojan, Stewart, and the #5 for Zion isn't the value (it's more than fair value and probably a steal). It's that it speeds up our timeline while robbing us of offensive spacing. Without hope of getting a stretch four out of either Stew's development or the #5 pick and without Bojan's shooting in the front court, who's spacing at all in the front court? And we'd still have Duren, Wiseman, and Bagley. I'm not saying we couldn't figure anything out, but our roster would be a bit of a mess, despite being talented, and we'd have a much narrower window to get it ironed out, IMO, because who knows how long we could keep Zion on the roster and who knows how many playoff games he'd be healthy enough to actually play in (if we made the playoffs with him)?
