Monty... "Duren can be a top 10 player in the league"

I think I might be in the minority here, but I think Duren is a better prospect than Ivey. Some of that is a knock on Ivey, but mostly, Duren already has elite rebounding and better than average passing and positional defense. He needs a high post floater like Bam and to get better with one or two dribbles in terms of shot creation, and obviously, his defense has a lot of work to do with rotations and challenging shots. But I saw someone learning as the year went by. Injuries are a slight concern.

One thing about Weaver, I think he's higher on Duren than I am. Glad no such dumb trades like this junk have any chance of happening.

As someone who remembers watching NBA during peak Dwight Howard, there is no question he was a top 10 talent in this league. While Monty might be a little hyperbolic here, I don't disagree with it entirely. Duren really could be that good.

I'm with you, and I like Ivey more than most. IMO Cade, Duren and Ivey all have potential (of course, not likely) to be a top 10 talent in this league, and I think it's a fairly even toss-up who is the more valuable player in 2025/2026.

I now know who Duren reminds me of when running up and down the floor. That gait is Chris Weber 100%. So there's that.

Between Cade and Ivey lobbing it to duren and cleaning up the glass, I can see him making 6-8 Fgs a game doing that. I can see Duren easily averaging 20/14/3 and that’s very good for a center. He could spend the rest of his career focusing on FTs and go to moves, by 28 he could dominate the NBA.

I dont think its hyperbole. Maybe more of a top 15 guy but he could turn a Bam A type center depending on how he develops. He showed a ton as the youngest player ITL.

Stew and others have said Duren had another growth spurt. I want him more like Dwight Howard. You're going to need a big man who can defend to win now. Embiid in the East, Jokic in the West, and a lot of other big guys. I'd like him to dunk everything in sight. Obviously, using both hands for layups, learning to use the glass, half-hooks, but instead of time on practicing jumpers, I'd use that time for free-throws. Let the opposing team adjust to us.

He just looks better and better everytime we get a glance at his progress. Monty is saying all the right things, we know he has a lot of work ahead of him to get to that point, but I see no reason why he can't be a top 5 center in the league in less than 3 years.

If Jalen grew some more, he's going to be one of the biggest Centers in the league(came in 6'11 250lbs)and with his quickness, and leaping ability, oh boy. He could be a legit 7', and now be 270.
