Warriors trade Poole + Picks to Washington for Chris Paul
Warriors trade Poole + Picks to Washington for Chris Paul
Warriors had to include a 2030 1st round pick and a 2nd rounder to make the swap. Wizards getting more future draft capital.
It will certainly be interesting to see how Poole does as a #1 option with the Warriors. He'd got a big contract for four more seasons.

Don’t get it….Warriors are best with ball in Curry’s hands. Will be interesting to see how this works out for them

Hmm, they clearly couldn't come back with Draymond and Poole on the same roster. But this move also makes more sense *if* Draymond's not coming back, since they'd miss his playmaking.

They just flat out can't afford the bill under the new CBA

CP3 gives them a huge expiring and allows them to keep their aging vets a bit longer. I'm sure they are also happy with Gary Payton II taking more of the minutes Poole would have taken since he's a much better defender.
It'll certainly be interesting to see what type of contract Draymond ends up getting after opting out.

They mostly needed to get off some long term salary given the cap hell they're about to be in under the new CBA. Paul will likely run the 2nd unit on most nights.

The Wizards are being run into the ground, and I would love to grab Jones off that...that "roster". Weaver, trade that #31 pick for him, immediately.

Marvin Bagley, RJ Hampton, Eugene Omoruyi for Monte Morris and Deni Avdija.
The way Washington is currently doing deals, we can probably get a decent second round pick as well.
Also;
Any time anyone complains about Weaver, just cite what Washington is doing.
I legitimately don’t think they have any idea what they’re doing and I think they’ll outdo Isiah Thomas as the Knicks GM in terms of how awful they make decisions.

Re: Warriors trade Poole + Picks to Washington for Chris Paul
I think this is how Washington's roster shapes up right now:
PG: Tyus Jones / Monte Morris / Delon Wright
SG: Jordan Poole / Landry Shamet / Johnny Davis
SF: Corey Kispert
PF: Deni Avdija / Danilo Gallinari / Xavier Cooks
C: Daniel Gafford / Mike Muscala / Anthony Gill
Lot of money tied up in the backcourt. Maybe they're a team Detroit could flip Bagley to? Not excited about any of the realistic returns, but Marvin has got to go.

Steph is an all time great level off ball player. I’d be more worried about the defensive fit.

Are they even keeping CP3? Warriors really lack creators on that team they got much worse.Snakebites wrote:Piston Pete wrote:Don’t get it….Warriors are best with ball in Curry’s hands. Will be interesting to see how this works out for them

Kispert is a sweet shooting wing, (6'7 220lbs)and one of their three backup PG could be really useful if the team is moving in from Hayes.coordinator0 wrote:I think this is how Washington's roster shapes up right now:

Bagley/Hayes/#31 for Kispert/Jones
I'd do that deal in a heartbeat.

Reports are they won’t waive him.

Warriors still have Kuminga. That’s who I want to steal.

Re: Warriors trade Poole + Picks to Washington for Chris Paul
With the Warriors having the best off ball backcourt the league has ever seen, I could see CP3 being effective in spurts during crunch time orchestrating the offense when the game slows down. He's likely will come off the bench similar to how Rondo did for the Lakers and was great at
This puts more pressure on Green to sign a team friendly deal for a "last dance" type of thing since all of them want him back and got rid of Poole who was the obstacle in that

Kuminga likely becomes the replacement for Draymond.

The better question is why would the Wizards refuse?coordinator0 wrote:zeebneeb wrote:Kispert is a sweet shooting wing, (6'7 220lbs)and one of their three backup PG could be really useful if the team is moving in from Hayes.coordinator0 wrote:I think this is how Washington's roster shapes up right now:

I dont see any team taking Bagley. Terrible contract. It’s just wishful thinking.
