Keith Smith on Twitter:

The Detroit Pistons renounced the free agent rights to Buddy Boeheim, Hamidou Diallo, Cory Joseph and Rodney McGruder.

My feelings on Diallo were mixed throughout, but the guy played hard and tried on defense.

He’ll probably catch on somewhere. CoJo already has.

If we move someone else Rodney could be back…again.

We don't really have much to outbid other teams on a OG trade.

unless we're willing to part with one of the young guys and thats not worth it.

Stewart, Hayes and Wiseman is probably the best we could even offer.

OG is a FA in 12 months... trading assets for him now and then losing him for nothing would be a brutal setback in the rebuild. He's also going to want a 5 year $225 million contract from us in 12 months if we do trade for him.

If/when he exercises his player option, will he be UFA or RFA?

Agree im just stating what it would take before everyone gets too excited about a trade.

If it were after a season with this new group it might make sense, but too soon for him as either a short term rental or a long term $40m+ player.

Then yeah, no reason to trade for him.

Maybe the team that trades for him increases their own chances of extending him before he hits free agency…

But that’s about it

That account seems to mostly repeat things broken by others- though that looks made up.
In that case I think it’s generally known the Raptors are pivoting to a rebuild. Both Siakam and OG could be moved during the offseason/season.

Way too soon to make massive moves for a player like OG. Has he even ever been an all-star or been on an all-NBA team or been one of the best two players on a contender? The way folks talk about his value, you'd think he was one of the best 15 players in the league.

OG will opt out of his PO and be a FA next summer and we will have a boatload of capspace, better to throw the bag at him then.
