Wemby struggled a lot the first game, Miller has struggled the entire SL, Scoot, Amen and Hendricks are hurt, Whitmore had a poor 1st game, Walker poor shooting. At least offensively, and just eyeballing stats (and I haven't watched a lot of the other guys), the offensive struggles are plaguing most of the rookies. In other words, don't take too much from Summer League.

Of course, just reading through this thread, half of RealGM Pistons is already trading off Ausar but ridiculous overreactions are a part of the charm of RealGM.

Haven't you heard? Ausar is just a hybrid of Hami Diallo, Killian Hayes (his shot) and Luke Kennard (his tendency to defer). The case is closed.

I accidentally ended up watching the first half of the Pistons summer league game at the gym. My biggest takeaway is Jabari sure looks splendid offensively, and while he and Easton got all the open jump shots and three their hearts could handle, they also were abused by Duren whenever he played. Fun to see their development with higher expectations.

Pistons, especially our man Ivey, were doing token defense anything not a drive, and they were often out of position when Houston drove, even if more effort was involved. I was hoping to see more defensive awareness from Duren, which is still lacking. I may physically get ill if Pistons continue this two-big lineup in the regular season. I get that in summer league you don't want to tell Wiseman or Duren they aren't starters, but please, stop this!

Ausar and Sasser look to me like dudes who will benefit a ton from having defined roles, and Ausar should excel. While I'm not sure Cade and Ivey pair together well, I'm positive about Ausar bringing a ton of stuff the Pistons lacked last year. Having said that, just stop playing Ivey and let Sassaer and Ausar showcase a little more. I'm not saying Pistons will win - neither look ready for it - but that's where the growth is to be made.

I like the way he plays. I hate his butt ugly flat jumper.

Still, it’s far more likely that Ausar develops a solid open jumper than Bagley or Wiseman develop a brain that processes at NBA speed. Just play the kid, he’s exciting.

Hopefully they sit Ivey now so Ausar can get more touches on ball.
