He's already made comments in interviews that he doesn't want to bulk up he wants to stay agile/mobile.... wants to keep working on flexibility and quickness.

Wemby looked like a complete mess scoring from everywhere but that shot blocking is ridiculous.

Im sure Wemby will be amazing but the fact that the media compared him to 1st year Lebron and the impact he will have is crazy. The spurs will be terrible this year

Thompson looking good early is a good sign for us... I know there was a ton of doubters of the legitimacy of the OTE being more of high school level hoops than college but Amen having no problem from the get go in this one tonight.

Exactly. This is me. And I had Ausar ahead of Amen and rising in the weeks leading up to draft.

Very excited to watch his debut as a Piston tomorrow.

Yeah, summer league is just summer league, but IMO it does matter in projecting how a recently drafted player is going to handle their transition into the NBA, at least as a rookie. It's as rare to see a rookie bust in summer league, thrive in regular season as it is to see a rookie thrive in summer league, bust in regular season. Sure, it happens. But I do think what happens here matters in the analysis.

Not to mention, the size of the audience watching these games in-person and online has gone up about 5,000% since when I started, not sure about everyone else.... :o No one can tell me these kids aren't trying very hard to impress at summer league these days.

Guy fell for a reason for sure- he was passed on by quite a few teams that needed a player of his archetype.

A week before the draft, NBADraft.net had Detroit selecting Cam.

Too bad about all the injuries. Scoot let the game come to him, and he didn't miss. He forced the issue later on.. VW kept settling for 3's, and the few times he tried going to the hole, a little bit of body on defense caused him to miss a few easy ones. He (and Chet) can block 3's. There was one time VW jumped, despite being 20 feet away. I thought it was funny. I guess he got excited.

I'm so upset the brothers won't face each other. I'd like to see more Scoot, etc.

SL Game One is tonight at 5:30 on ESPN and the Pistons are 4 point favorites (crazy you get to bet on summer league games). No Banchero for Orlando in this one, but we will get to see lottery picks Anthony Black and Jett Howard as well as Caleb Houston who was their pick last season.

It'll be interesting to see which one of Wiseman/Duren starts for us or if we'll go with both of them up front and bring Livers off the bench.

C: Duren/Wiseman?
PF: Livers
SF: Ausar
SG: Sasser
PG: Ivey

Ivey is gonna be matched up against a big defensive PG in Black. Should be fun to see how he handles him

I can't believe ivey is playing at all to be honest, and I wouldn't be surprised if he didn't suit up. There's no real point unless they want him playing with the two rookies. Duren needs as much game experience has he can get. I do think development in practice - which we don't see - is way more important than glorified scrimmages.

I'd be happy if Pistons did well - just because it's great to feel good so why not - and I wouldn't worry one second if they didn't.

Austin Daye is such a great example of why. He made it to the NAB and clearly had great skills just to do that. In summer league, his talent and understanding of the game was simply better than most everyone else in the game. Once he made the jump to a real NBA game, that advantage was gone and he did almost nothing in his career.
