I also wonder if Weaver even wants to move Bagley though. He might view him as a good PF with his big man fetish.

Ugh. That would be sad.

It’s ultra-clear we don’t need both Bagley and Wiseman. The counter-argument is that both miss a lot of games, but if you think of them as one big (taking up two roster spots) making 23 million dollars it’s even worse.

Wiseman has more range, is more athletic, is a little longer, and has a higher ceiling (keeping in mind that ceiling means very little if progress is very slow).

Bagley is a better man defender and rebounder. He’s also more physical and generally less afraid of contact.

Both are good finishers. Both are horrible help and switch defenders.

I want neither, but given a choice, I’d give Wiseman all the minutes. It’ll definitely lose us some games, but we don’t have better options. We need another real 4 or 4/5, and unless Wiseman takes significant steps, that’s a future draft pick, free agent, or trade.

Yeah I want those two gone. I want Wiseman gone before Weaver does something stupid and gives him a Bagley extension.

I would need to see A LOT before I’d be comfortable giving Wiseman a new contract. Not a good game, a good week, or even a good six weeks (hi Killian! you still suck!). A solid season of production, improvement and focus.

If you can get a first go for it. But it appears we can’t.

I still think the best window for trading Bojan will be a mid-year deadline deal to someone who looks at the landscape and thinks they can make a playoff run. But I agree, he adds a lot of value to our team as constructed, so I also don't mind standing firm

What makes this years deadline better than last year when nobody offered a first rounder?

The guy clearly doesn’t have a lot of value. He’s a guy teams want to get on the cheap but not one people particularly want to commit non-fringe assets to.

Which to be fair was also the price we paid for him, so it’s a push.

probably not! Seems to be more overlap. I'm tired of see an overlapped roster. I want something more balanced. Who's going to play small forward?

Ausar Hardaway Livers Harris Burkes can all play SF. We can also resign Diallo and salary dump Killian for a second round pick. I like Diallo more than Killian at least he’s an NBA player.

Jazz have interest in Herro.

Make it a 4-team deal? Main pieces:

Dame to Miami
Herro to Utah
Bogey and picks from Miami to Portland
Hendricks and salary filler to Pistons

They're not trading the kid they just drafted at #9 for Tyler Herro. No one would. And certainly no one in Utah's position.

Can you imagine Ainge giving up his most recent Lotto pick for the right to pay Herro 30 mil? You better believe we'd be eating some serious salary filler in that deal.

Didn't Utah retain Clarkson? Also have Sexton, THT, & drafted a guard and a wing.

Logjam there without adding Herro, even if we were eating Clarkson's salary here

Just going off the RealGM’s headlines that Utah is interested in Herro.

Now, whether we can pry Hendricks from them is another story.

But they already have Collins and Lauri, so *maybe* he’d be available if the right deal came along….maybe

Given Ainge's history what makes you think we'd be able to get Hendricks for Bojan?

Do you not think that if Bojan had that kind of value he'd have been traded by now?

1) No reason to believe they’d trade Hendricks even if they like Herro

2) The Blazers would obviously prefer Hendricks and filler over Bogey even if the Jazz were willing

Wiseman is 22, I think it’s a bit early to write him off. But if Duren and Stewart are keepers, seems like one of Bagley/Wiseman should be moved. I see this as a “prove it” year. We really are not spending that much for trying to get a diamond in the rough. But we need to figure it out before either gets a new contract.
