That's awesome. I salute you. Every time someone gets a jersey, hundreds/thousands of people, and hopefully buy a jersey of their own, or check out our team at least. We had a very high attendance last year (surprised me!) despite the worst record, despite our franchise player and #1 pick out, and this year HAS to be better just by default. No Wemby sweepstakes, all our guys are back, we have added Ausar and the great Joe Harris and from my hometown, Monte Morris, an underrated player. And I don't think we'll see half our rotation sitting out games after the all-star break. They got their rest, now it's time for the test.

I wonder if Ausar will wear Adidas like The Supreme Court.

Monty Williams on ESPN: “I’ve become a fan of Ausar and Sass. Their toughness, we saw it down the stretch. Those two guys just made play after play and played winning basketball, which is something that makes me want to take them home and arrange a marriage with my daughters.”

"These guys are so good at basketball, I want to force my daughters to marry them."

Why the **** would he say this? Does he think it's funny? That's a hell of a cringe way to start his new job.

Well, we knew Monty likes quick decision making. We should respect his rather quick decision to have our two rookies marry his daughters and leave it at that.

Think he’s saying playing basketball the right way make him want his daughters to marry them. He loves basketball loves how they play it. Just shows he loves their game, kinda weird way of saying it

Defense wins ships. BMP approves of Ausser. Dude can become the right role playing starter on a contending team.

Western mentality is so foreign to the idea of an arranged marriage, there’s no wonder the divorce rate is so high in the West.

As a foreigner, that’s a big complement what Monty said, it’s not weird. Marriage isn’t something creepy, it’s a sacred bond between two people and has a high honor/respect in the community. People don’t honor marriage like that in the West, it’s sad. Monty is saying these two kids are such good kids listening putting in the effort that they’d make good husbands for his daughters because of their high character. That’s what you WANT to hear. And if you don’t? Worry about your relationship, your kids and we’ll see how you feel when you raise kids and want them to find a good man/woman. We’ll see who they marry and yes it’s correlated with your success raising them. Thompson twins parents are successful parents and Monty recognizes that.

I read that a slight majority of marriages around the world are arranged, and I've read they are more successful.. Maybe the lack of expectations?

Well, this thread has certainly taken a weird turn.

What do you mean by successful? If you just mean they are less likely to end in divorce, I think it stands to reason that someone who doesn't get to choose to start a marriage is less likely to feel free to end it, right?

If it's anything other than that I've no idea how you'd even measure it.

It's a weird soundbite by Monty, but I'm assuming he's being hyperbolic.

Honestly, it's a way of saying they're good citizens, hard working, unselfish, and deliberate. Essentially a less artful way of saying 'the kind of guy you hope your daughter brings home.'

Oh, and Ausar, yes please.

It was an article. I just remember being surprised at first, and then worked backwards. Marriage isn't something I'm interested in, but the idea of living with someone else forever is .... fascinating, from a distance and vicariously.
