i had a bad habit of doing it in cade's rookie season but last season i was fine missing the game. this season i'll *hopefully* have that bad habit again.

I spend most of the year in LA so it’s harder for me to watch the early games.

I try to watch as many as I can. Last year I probably caught 55-60 of the games live and watched the replays of half of the games I did watch live.

I'll watch most of em if Cade's playing. Last season was the first time I've tapped out, the few games I watched in 2023 were games that I attended.

I don't even miss pre-season. I watch every game. Every play. But the tanking stuff at the end of the season would cause me to avoid pausing and just go to the kitchen and get a snack. Also a first.

I'll probably watch 75% of the games. I usually watch on some sort of tape delay. I'll watch and read comments on this forum simultaneously trying to align the comments with the quarter Im watching lol

I'll absolutely watch them. I hate missing growth games. Yeah, I can go back and watch them later, but its just not the same.

If the game is out of hand in the 1st, or 2nd, which happened often last year, ill bail early for sure.

I'm just hoping the team plays hard this season. Hard to watch a team rolling out the bench, to the bench night in, and night out.

I typically watch 90% of the games, missing some for family stuff. I rarely watch replays, so I'll miss a few.

Last season without Cade, particularly when the real tank games started, I wouldn't watch the whole game, maybe checking in here or there after the blowout started. I don't mind the losses as long as they play hard, but the tank games got old.

Paid for League Pass and watched them all last year. I'll do the same this year.

I work evenings so I'm lucky enough not to have to suffer through so many games last season. I'll probably watch like 20 or 30 this season

Same here. Just like you if I don't watch live I'll watch on recording, but I find a way to watch at least a portion of every game or most at least.

I will say though, I tuned out of games more last season than any season in a while. Cade being out early dropped the interest level considerably right off the bat and even though it was fun at times watching Ivey and Duren, it got tiresome eventually as the team got less and less competitive and they started sitting everybody well before the season was over.

I have a lot of interest in this season because of Cade and Ausar added in but it'll be hard to watch an entire game later in the season if they're jockeying for draft position again. The objective should be to have meaningful games as late as March.

I'm laughing because I feel ya.

I would love meaningful games past November. (5-15 last season going into December)

If the Pistons are playing meaningful games in January, it'll be the best season in five years.

In theory, we had meaningful games last year, although meaningful to get the first pick

I pay for league pass. I'm passed the point of purposely scheduling anything else around games though. If I'm home, I'll watch them even when the team sucks. If I've got other plans at that time, I'm not watching whole replays - maybe highlights.

I watch a lot of Pistons basketball and I play basketball so it’s fun for me to watch talent there really is a difference. I’m probably gonna catch 60-65 games next season. I’m looking to get 10 game tickets. Got them the past 2 years with my brother and it’s a lot of fun. Cade is a lot of fun to watch but now we have high flyers like Ivey Thompson Duren. It’s gonna be pretty easy to score on a nightly basis who those two guys running point and Ausar connecting the dots. Duren is gonna have a field house. We’re gonna have plenty of open jump shots with Cade running the point guard position. He’s a machine who sets the pace and scores at will and makes sure he makes his teammates better first. That’s gonna make Duren’s time easier for alleys. That’s gonna get Ivey and Stewart open cuz Bojan is covered well. They essentially have to make their jump shots and Cade will be in complete control of the game. If I were to choose who shoots well it would be Ivey because if he’s covered tight he can have an easy time cutting in for dunks using his first step and Stewart will still be open haha

I’ve been getting league pass down here for more than ten years. I usually watch about 65-70 Piston games, almost all in delay though as I work most nights until 10.

I view this as… a tad optimistic… but yeah, we have the pieces for a solid offense. That wouldn’t surprise me.

If we’re gonna shock the world and contend for a play-in spot, though, we’re going to need to see major defensive improvement. Like Cade needs to be average, Ivey needs to improve a ton, Ausar needs minutes and needs to play aggressively, Duren needs progress, and Stewart needs to adapt further to playing the four. If Monty gets us playing league average defense, I’ll be REALLY impressed.

Yeah I agree. Our problem isn’t on offense, it’s definitely defense. I’d be surprised too if we were league average defense. I think we can be 23rd best on defense maybe 25th. We have the athleticism and depth to make it happen, we just need the system and the internal growth. We won’t come out playing good defense, it’s gonna take all year to develop that defense. That’s why I don’t think we can make the Play In but you never know what happens around the league. It’s a health determined league and I’ve seen countless injuries so teams go up and down based on their health. Teams like Golden state tanked for some time before they got healthy and played competitive basketball again. This can happen to any team. So in order to make it in the Play In first and foremost, we have to stay healthy and that’s really all I’m asking for this year let alone improvement. I think staying healthy in of itself IS the improvement that we’ll make and that’ll make me happy.

For the East, something to consider.

Are 76ers contenders? Yes, without harden? Probably not. Playoffs bound? Probably, Embiid out? No I don’t think so depends on how long he’s out in the season. I’m not a big fan of Maxey.
Is Miami a Playoff contender without Butler? No. Adebayo can’t carry a team offensively and they lost Vincent Oladipo Strus etc and they have NOT gotten lillard so I don’t see the point of calling a Play In team a Playoff contender seeing how much talent they’ve lost this offseason. Coaching can get them there, but so can our coach… Popovich barely won after Duncan and Kawhi left.
Hawks? Yes. Nets? They’re pretty average but have plenty depth. I think Play In fighting.
Bucks? Yes they’re deep with or without Giannis they are contenders for sure.
Celtics? Yes without Tatum, yes without Brown. They’re pretty deep. But what do they look like without Smart? With Porzingis? Their coaching isn’t that great considering Udoka got them to Playoffs too, I’m looking at the talent. Lots of talent but lost Smart and Williams this summer and Brogdan is injured. I think Celtics got worse but they are Playoffs.
Cavs? Yes plenty of depth across the roster
Knicks? Yes if Brunson stays healthy otherwise they don’t have a player to set a pace and a locker room to keep together. They can make Playoffs though, their coach is that good.
Bulls? They’re a treadmill team, Play In at best. They doubled down on mediocrity even the fans will agree. Patrick Williams could be a bust, I like him, I don’t love him. Lavine is expensive he’s like the new Beal. Lonzo I feel bad for him but he’s gotta retire or get traded. Derozan is the man for sure but how much longer can he hang on for with his age? Not a fan of Vucevic at center.
Raptor will tank this year, no vanvleet, will dump Siakam and likely OG as well to tank. It’s clear as daylight they’re a bottom 3 team in the East. If they’re not, their fans better be praying for better lottery luck otherwise they’re in for a treadmill amount of rebuilding.
Pacers have a top 5 coach, very good PG, Mathurin is good but not great guy isn’t a playmaker, he’s a pure SG. I like Walker but rookie, Turner’s gotta go along with Hield. Like it’s time to get traded otherwise they’re stuck in mediocrity too but they have a great coach so you never know.
Wizards are tanking.
Magic can be better than Pacers, better than the Heat, Raptors and Bulls. I love the Magic roster and I hope they do well. I’m really big on Franz Wagner, I really like Black, I really don’t like Anthony and Fultz. Paolo is a good basketball player but I’m not sure how good his jumpshot will get and that sets the ceiling in his game.
Hornets are wild card. Bad coach, bad ownership, poor locker room morale, Bridges wants out, Washington wants to get paid and likely gets QO and out. Lamello is the type to ask for a trade now that Jordan (His next door neighbor) is out of ownership. Hornets are a horribly run franchise at the moment like the Wizards and how we were during our ownership change.
