Thought this was pretty interesting, decent breakdown on why it's simple and effective. less embarrassing than an underarm FT shot too.

Duren is great, he does a lot of good things for us, he is smart, a decent and willing passer, he's strong, athletic, is not affraid of contact etc etc but he does have flaws.

He is a poor FT shooter. 61.1% is not unplayable bad but it's bad. There are examples of South Korean bigs that were worst shooters than Duren and once they start banking their FTs they start shooting in the 80's%. If Duren could be a consistent 80%+ FT shooter he would be absolutely unstoppable.

So I was thinking about Duren while watching this video, I would love for him to at least try to do it, since there is scientific proof that this work for big man like him.

Duren was a 70% FT shooter as a starter. I think he'll be ok here with time and consistency.

Yeah, that's dumb. Duren's shot looks fine. No major concerns about that going forward. He just needs a bunch of reps and I think he'll easily be a 70%+ shooter.

I'll echo what others have said;

If Durens shot was anywhere near as poor as Drummonds was when he first hit the league, then yeah, immediate intervention.

Duren on the other hand has hits jumpers, with good form, and even some three-pointers.

Not worried in the slightest.

As much as I’d love to see Duren be a three pointer shooter, I’d like to have him be dominated in the paint and aggressive in the block. I’d really like to get a stretch 4 who can rebound if I got my wish.
