Everything is pushed back this year due to Fiba. But camp starts three weeks from today, October 3.

Media Day is Monday, October 2.

Seems crazy they start training camp on Oct 3rd and have a Preseason game on Oct 8th, just five days later. So they get at most four practices and a shoot around before Preseason starts.

So I really want people to be calm for the start of this season, and with this news, even more so.

New coach.

New system.

New rookies.

New vets.

Returning player.(s)

Late training camp.

Focus on winning.

I cannot state this enough;

The first ten games are going to be rough, and they could look worse then last year. Give them time to come together.

I’ll believe that two dribble stuff if Monty doesn’t play Bojan, which won’t happen. You have to accept the warts of your vet scorers. And Cade’s gonna play even if his defense sucks.

It does sound like Ausar has a path to serious minutes, though. And Ivey better figure some stuff out.

I don't remember Cade being a bad defender. He seemed to have very good hands. Very good at anticipation. And that was from his rookie year... I'm going to give him a mulligan for last year, since he tried to play with the pain to avoid surgery.

I also remember Bojan as a guy who could catch and shoot no problem. And if he put the ball on the floor, he got a shot up quickly, always creating space with one or two dribbles.

The 2 dribbles thing was that you have to be able to stay with your man for 2 dribbles, not that our players shouldn't dribble too much. (We shouldn't overdribble either, but that is a different topic)

I just saw that, but I also agree on both ends. We held the ball too long, dribbled too much, and as Monty said. The best offense is the best defense, getting stops, and getting out and run. Even the worst teams had fun offenses to watch (despite the losing).

I just cannot wait til the first pre-season game. I love seeing how and who improves. Especially young guys. It's fun to then go back and read initial thoughts.

Duren is in the new injury report. Listed as day-to-day with an ankle after not playing the 2nd half on Sunday. Expect him not to play on Thursday.
