hard to compete when your last line of defense does this.

I think the Bagley experiment needs to end. I get that he can be an instant energy guy off the bench but there's clearly moments where he needs to not play as well

He was an overpay, always was

"Re-evaluated in four weeks" rarely translates to "returning in four weeks", at least in my experience.

This is not going to be popular, but the last 2 games, I have liked Wiseman a lot more than Bagley. Wiseman have been able to do some stuff on both sides of the floor.

Bagley, whenever he does something good on offense, he immediately give up more than that on defense. He is bad, and he has always hurted us even when he was having 20/10 games.

Wiseman need to spend a few years in the GLeague, but he could be something one day. He would be a fine 2 way player, nothing more than that right now.

I would not be surprise if he ask to be traded once he is healthy.

Once Duren comes back it's time to put Stew to bench for backup C and a little PF. Bojan can be our stretch 4 with Livers or Knox backing him up

When will YOU learn to appreciate nuance? Yes, it's on Weaver to get the talent. It's on coaching to get the most out of the talent and to keep the locker room in good shape. Casey did the latter but was poor at the former. Van Gundy was bad at both. Monty is doing worse than Casey at the first and considerably worse at the second.

His IQ is pretty poor on both ends, and I don't see that improving no matter how hard he works (and he's been working hard).

He also still can't shoot, which is a notable void for a guy who absolutely needs to be able to shoot if he's going to provide real value in the NBA.

If he flunks (and this seems likely), Weaver will be 0/6 on his reclamation projects... reclamation projects for whom he has traded a total of eight second-round picks and one decent roster player.

Funny seeing a couple guys cheer when they knew Killian was out, lol. The difference in overall defense looked JUST LIKE we lost our 2nd best defender, best ball handler, smartest play maker, and the guy who turns the ball over far and awsy less than any other guard on the team. Hmm, we were down by 40 to a 5-7 team, lol, no why, we didn't miss all that listed above.

It was only one game but I agree, the little things are missed too.

That's what happens when you don't play your core together and allow chemistry. I'll think we'll be OK moving forward if Monty continues to play our core together and we make a trade to move Hayes and some other pieces. Remember, we're not even 20 games in the season.

By the way- still NO word on when Morris, Bojan, or Duren are coming back.

Return to Detroit Pistons
