Duren is 19 years old and super raw. Nineteen bro.

His body and vert is insane. The stuff he can do on the court and in the paint on D is pretty rare for someone his age. Duren reminds me a lot of young Dwight, but a lot meaner

Lets check back in by the time he's 23.

Adding a guy like Randle who doesn’t have the range of a Stewart and not even half the defensive effort makes no sense. I won’t even start on the attitude issues.

Duren is by no means a pure post player, what games are you watching?

Right now he’s an elite garbage man and lob finisher with good vision, high IQ, and high motor. His role is slowly expanding, but he doesn’t get many post ups at all. That’s not our game or his.

In the future, given that his shot actually looks good, he could easily be a defensive anchor and high post hub. If you want to get super crazy optimistic, think “more athletic Marc Gasol”.

In any case, pure post player is never going to describe him.

There’s a huge misunderstanding. Duren is a low end Drummond right now. I’m saying for him to be a next level player, he has to be able to post up. If he can’t, he’s Deandre Jordan which is just an average backup big. I’m just saying that he needs to profile to that type of player. I agree that it probably doesn’t happen.

Ew. I see nothing in Duren that reminds me of that uncoordinated goofball

Drummond had better defensive numbers and the team defensively wasn’t as garbage with Drummond as they are now. I don’t see a lot if high upside with Duren outside of being a projected big under the age of 21.

A Dwight Howard/Gusol mix is what he needs to become.

I had no idea this thread was selling out on Duren. My only real concern with his development is the consistent injuries. In the little bit of time we saw, he was impacting the game better defensively, a huge step forward for him. And anyone watching how important Michell Robinson is for the Knicks? Duren's second chance points are gifts. He's already a solid passer and finisher. He still needs improvement with his screens - the man should be able to create more pathways than this.

No on Randle but we do need a PF. I'd love to see Siakam or Hachimura or Gordon if we are giving up assets and dreaming.

Honestly though I'd trade Stew for almost any starting PF in the NBA right now.

Siakam is expiring and a bad fit, Hachimura is very much a bench player, and Gordon is both a bad fit and definitely not being traded away by Denver unless it's for an upgrade. And the Pistons are very low on tradeable assets with which they'd be willing to part in the first place.

So he needs to become a hybrid of two of the best centers of the past 20 years? Seems like a lot to ask.

I think the Bam comp fits for Duren

I think Siakim could fit our roster just fine, but I don’t think anybtrades for him would make sense.
