I'm not sure Paolo over Chet is a lock.
Paulo wasn't a consensus #1 pick. You might even call him a surprise pick. It was really uncertain who the magic would go with at #1 up until the last day.
OK. Missed the nuance in that one. Pretty small sample size of consensus number one picks in the last 5 years. Ant wasn't a consensus number one pick either, so it's only three examples in the last 5 years, one of whom is one of the best prospects we've ever seen (Wemby). Then there's Zion, who aguably *isn't* the best player in his class (though he and Morant seem to be in a trainwreck competition at the moment). Add three more drafts to the list and you have Ayton (not consensus top pick and definitely not the best player in that one), Fultz (also not consensus top pick and definitel not the best player), and Ben Simmons (consensus top pick but definitely not the best player in that draft).
So go past the extremely small sample size and the point falls apart pretty quickly, but it maybe already did with the Zion example.
So essentially the only point being made is that Cade isn't Wemby and that's a bummer. Well, sure.
