Predict the second set of 10 games

Post#1 » by ElectricMayhem » Sat Nov 11, 2023 5:14 am

For the first 10 games, 2-8 was the most voted upon record and that's exactly what we ended up as.

If there is any reason to be optimistic, it's that we achieved that record despite having a large chunk of our team out. The bad news is, it's 2 wins. Out of 10 games.

So what's our record for the next 10?

1. @Chicago (their G1 of B2B)
2. vs. Atlanta (their G1 of B2B)
3. @Cleveland
4. @Toronto (our G1 of B2B)
5. vs. Denver (both teams' G2 of B2B)
6. @Indiana
7. vs. Washington
8. vs. Lakers (both teams' G1 of B2B)
9. @New York (our G2 of B2B) (their G1 of B2B)
10. vs. Cleveland

I went with 4-6. It will probably be dependent on who we get back and how fast - I haven't been paying attention to that. This 10 has more winnable games, I think. I predict we'll win just one of the first 6 (likeliest vs. Atlanta). Then I think we'll beat Washington, the Lakers, and one of @New York or Cleveland. Could be 3-7, but leaning more towards 4-6.

3-7 probably less since Duren is not going to play. Which means Bagley and Wiseman are going to get minutes.

2-8

I think Ivey is the only one coming back in the next few games, and with Duren likely to miss some time, our depth is.. absent.

If I had to guess, I think we beat Atlanta and then Washington.

I went with 3 wins with the hope that Ivey and burks come back soon.
Even with Ivey struggling to find his role, I think he can be a game changer eventually. Tonight’s Philly game showed that when Cade is being defended well, we really need a dynamic scorer which Ivey is.

I’ll be optimistic and say we get another 2 wins. Shaping up to be another tough season

If Duren is out for at least a few games then 2-8 seems possible again. We may get Monte Morris back at some point during that period which could help though.

Idk about our record at this point. I just want to see Cade not play so badly in these next 10 games. injuries or not 51.5 TS% and 5.3 turnovers a game is just not acceptable.

I hope we lose all games and Weaver gets fired. Those roster is on him. So are the injuries. Who the hell did he think Joe Harris was? Instead of using $25m in cap space to add solid veterans under 30 yrs of age, Weaver blew it all in Joe Harris BEFORE free agency even openned! :banghead: :banghead:

Most likely is 3-7... with 2-8 or 4-6 also possible. Anything else would really be a surprise to me.

Ivey & Burks will likely be back within the next game or two.

Morris, Bojan, and Livers are likely all going to be re-evaluated later this week to see where they are at so its possible at least one of them if not two are going to play a few games out of these 10.

We've played really strong in stretches even with all these injuries we just haven't been able to put together many complete games.

Part of the reason why I think 3-7 in more likely as well is because we've already seen growth from Wiseman. We've seen Sasser have a few big games and his confidence at the NBA level is high, we've got Stew in a nice groove shooting from distance, we've got Killian playing actual decent basketball which has been rare the past few seasons, and we'll hopefully have a highly motivated fresh Ivey coming back real soon ready to compete. We're also getting everyone used to what Monty is trying to do.

Wait, what? Like just in terms of passing back to the guard rather than chucking up an iso shot? Have I missed any positive contributions he made or is it just growth in terms of fewer outright negatives?

1-9. Beat the Wizards at home. Team still isn't healthy.

Well, they didn't beat the Wizards at home. So it's looking like 2-18 to start the season, which means the last 62 games are strictly for evaluation only. You're not making the play-in and you're really doing much other than being a spoiler to the rest of the competitive teams in the league.

Disappointed in Monty Williams and his staff.
