It took the NBA all of 3 games to figure out that if you just surround cade every play, we don't have enough firepower to beat you. Ivey is our second leading scorer and he's putting up 12 ppg. When bojan comes back, that will help, but lets be honest, he's a stop gap at his age. To be even competitive, not good, but just competitive, we need at least 1 other guy who can score 20 and a couple forwards who can score 15 while playing decent defense and spacing the floor.

i "picked" the under on 26.5 wins or whatever it was so i'm not surprised we're not winning but i didn't expect this.

the worst part is that it seems EVERYONE seems deflated, from monty to the players to media to the fans. hopefully at least getting one win starts some positive momentum.

I’ve been on these forums almost continuously for 20 years and have seen some rough times. 2009 was particularly bad as it was our first “bad” season essentially since the community as we knew it existed, plus we had a lot of Allen Iverson fan boys trolling us for “ruining” his career. And obviously it’s been rough going to various degrees since that time.

I’ve never seen anything quite like this.

I live far away from Detroit so I don’t really have a community of fans around me IRL- it’s just me and my dad. This forum is pretty much my only frame of reference. I’m sure it’s tough all over though.

Monty is making me miss Casey and I thought that would be impossible.

I was just thinking that today.

If Casey was getting the most out of the tanking squad, Monty has some work to do.

The team seemed to have more effort last year even without Cade during a tanking season.

Casey is probably looking around wondering how Monty is the highest paid coach and he’s unemployed.

Casey let the kids play. He let them make aggressive mistakes.

Monty will pull your ass if you mess up. New complicated schemes and the kids are lost. They are looking over their shoulder. They’re playing tentative.

It’s not like we have one or two players playing like that, half the team is. Ivey, Sasser, Duren, Ausar all are major contributors and don’t know what the hell they should be doing out there. No confidence. So unsure.

It doesn’t help that the other “vets” are pretty young and clueless too like Bagley, Wiseman, Stewart, Livers, Killian and even Cade at times. Gonna be a long season.

Monty doesn't put Cade Cunningham on he bench, and he's the main problem, whether it's blowing games at the end, or extreme chucking, or stupid lackadaisical turnovers for no good reason, or watching guys blow by him from play to play. It's easy for Monty W to yell at Ausar or Ivey, lets see him go after Cade C sometime.

Yep. First time that's happened, but the optics were just "we're resting everyone because we're getting blown out and it's the first night of a back to back." So not sure it really was a "benching" in the classic sense.

i live in toronto so i'm in the same boat, all i have is realgm and twitter to gauge reactions.

it's definitely not better on twitter and i'm pretty confident in saying morale is worse there.

I'm tired of the commercials, football interviews, etc., during the game.. Not that the game is great. I'm broke and will probably cancel cable today. This **** is too expensive, but I've been watching every single game since I was 7. I even got league pass when I spent 5 months in Europe. I actually sold my piece of junk car to pay for my bill right before the season started.

This nonsense started years ago in summer league and I hated it then. The whole point of watching summer league was looking for diamonds in the rough, but if you didn't know the name of the guy in the practice jersey that just made a bunch of plays while the announcers are interviewing an ex-player about his new energy drink company, gfys. Now they've made it part of the game, but part of that might be because the play by play guy is blind.

+/- is a worthless single player stat. It's purpose is to judge combos of players. If you put Lebron and four midgets on the team against five hall of famers and played him the whole game and they lost by 100, Lebron would be a -100 player.

His breakdown of the plays is excellent tho and it makes obvious why we're in a 16 games losing streak. Our players are clueless, they don't know the basics and the fundamentals.
