Grade the Hayes pick!

I liked the pick initially but now he's a bust and that whole 2020 draft was a giant L. Bey was the best player we had out of that draft and we traded him for a below average bench player in Wiseman.

I don’t have a bold take that aged horribly in the thread, but I can’t help but wince at my “Awesome!” vote.

He wasn’t a consensus pick but he was a widely popular choice at the time.

It goes to show that while we’re right to be critical of the job Weaver has done, as he’s getting paid to do it and we’re not, we’re not basketball savants either. We just do the best we can to have opinions with the information available to us.

I said at the time. This was the wrong draft to go all in. It was during the lockdown. Front offices had very limited information, they couldn't scout properly.

So obviously a lot of teams picked the wrong guys, it sucks that we went for 3 picks in this draft and an early 2nd and we missed on all of them as expected.

I made this point back in 2020, some people agreed but most ignored and people just think I hate Weaver for no reason, but I provided plenty of evidence over the course of the years why he is the worst GM in the NBA.

I agree that draft did suck, but really were we gonna be any better right now if we blew it up the next summer, it was two years way too late then, it had to be done, they’ve got to add some high level veterans next summer
