Teams is a mess, but if we did something next month like
1) Bojan for a first plus whatever
2)Ivey, Harris or other expiring, first for Markannen - might need a swap thrown in.
Start morris, cade, ausar, lauri, duren. Bench sasser, killian, burks, livers, stew. Lineups actually make sense in the modern nba with a mix of shooting and defense.
Use our upcoming top 5 pick to add another guy that actually compliments Cade,Lauri, Duren. Use cap space on 3&D style wing and forward players.

This is not what I want to do, but I feel like needs to happen:
1. Bagley, Ivey, and Harris for Lavine
2. Morris + Bojan for Grant
We become
Cade/Hayes
Lavine/Burks
Ausar/Lavine
Grant/Stewart
Duren/Stewart
Lotto pick in 2024 which we should swing for the fences on who can eventually supplant Grant…or just draft Bronny and get one year of Lebron.![]()
Sign a bunch of 3 and Ds for the bench.
Cade
Lavine
Grant
Lebron
Duren
Reserves
Bronny
Burks
Ausar
Stewart
MLE 3&D
1. Cade is not a point guard. Or if he is, it's objectively his worst skill, right up there with defense. He shouldn't be bringing the ball up the court or initiating the offense. He is a sloppy passer and a disinterested defender, possibly because he is exhausted from trying to do everything. I believe this is the main reason we not only losing, but completely uncompetitive.
2. I know you were being sarcastic, but you'd better believe that Lebron is hand picking where he and Bronny will play. He has always chosen where he plays, and he will absolutely use his influence to pick their landing spot. Basketball is a business, and Lebron is the most valuable product. It won't be Detroit.
I don’t think Cade needs to be a true point guard to be a lead guard. I think like every successful team in the NBA you need at least 3 ball handlers in your lineup.
To your second point was definitely joking, I see 4 options for Bronny:
1. LA - late round or second round pick that keeps Bron in LA
2. Golden State - Moves up north and teams up with Curry for a year or two.
3. San Antonio - Lebron, Wemby, Pop. Pop and Lebron ride off into the sunset along with a whole bunch of ring chasers.
4. Cleveland: The final hurrah

Re: No clue how to fix this...
The answer is the draft.
But the issue is Heyes is who he is and doesn't provide any space, neither does Cade atm (though I thought he was on the uptick at the beginning of the year)
I consider this Cade's 2.5 season.
Ausar is a project offensively, but you can't take him out of the starting lineup due to what he provides.
Essentially, you need to break up the Cade, Heyes, Ausar starting lineup.

I agree with this, I think Asur should come off the Bench with Stewart. The people that look like they don't belong on this team is Bagley, Burks and Wiseman. We need a reliable forward/ Wing moving forward.Kalamazoo317 wrote:I don’t think Duren and Ausar work in the same lineup for extended minutes.
Hayes / Sasser
Ivey / trade target
Cade / Livers
Bojan / Asur
Duren / Stewart
Those are the only player I think that are constantly bring some energy with this team.

I think most owners are business men and not fans first like most of us. I doubt the business is much different from a lottery team perspective.zeebneeb wrote:You know, ive made my fair share of Gores/drug jokes over the years, but one really has to wonder where the hell is he in all of this?Mr Peanut wrote:If the Pacers come out with an offensive powerhouse against us leading to another blowout, with Haliburton leading the way, is that the final straw for Gores?
Probably not, as any straw in his vicinity will be jammed up his nose.
I am now assuming he is drugged up all the time(Alcohol/weed/coke/e.t.c.)to seemingly not care that your franchise is a combination of the hindenburg/titanic at the moment.
Unless I've missed it, he hasn't said a peep about the disaster currently unfolding, and by not saying anything publicly, to me, it speaks volumes about him as an owner, and I'll guarantee it speaks volumes to NBA honchos in the league office as well.
The NBA is a collective, and having a horrendous product, coming from the second oldest, and historic franchise, isn't a good look, and they will step in at some point. They've done it before.

Cade is a Lead Guard, not a point Guard. He has the size to make plays and break a defense down, but you have to have elite handles to break down when the defense knows they only have to stop you.Patrick27 wrote:ComboGuardCity wrote:As unintuitive as it is, we might need to trade our young talent in order to save this franchise from going down even further. Re: No clue how to fix this...
I would rather send Asur than Hayes to the bench because of the turnovers. Hayes is a better PG than Cade and will take care of the ball better and a better 3-point Shooter than Asur at this point. But I do agree that we can play Asur and Hayes at the same time.Vampirate wrote:The answer is the draft.

Kilian doesn't commit turnovers because he play plays a very low-risk, low-reward style. He doesn't even try to get to the rim, and he doesn't collapse defenses. Ausar is a much better defender, rebounder, cutter, finisher, transition player, etc, and most importantly, he's one of the few wings on the team with a pulse.
With Cade/Ivey/Sasser on the roster, Killian simply shouldn't play at all (barring injury). The rest of the roster is just too bad at scoring to not maximize the minutes of those 3 guys, who actually can score, and require defenses to guard them. Killian needs to go to a team where he isn't asked to score.
If you want to reduce turnovers, you space the floor by never playing the 2-big lineups so these guys aren't constantly playing in a crowd. A bunch of young guys constantly playing in a crowd = turnovers.
