Honestly, yes I did want the Pistons to break the record.
Riding that streak was easily the most interesting the Detroit Pistons have been for like the last 15 years. Interesting for all of the wrong reasons of course, but it did give you a reason to pay them some semblance of attention.
This franchise has been thoroughly bland since the offseason after Chauncey was traded. Getting Iverson in the Chauncey trade, proved to be bad for the franchise and bad for the board with the mass influx of Iverson fanbois troll that arrived. But even with the unpleasant side effects, having Iverson provided a sense of intrigue.
Since then, the best you can say about any season is the Pistons were an "also ran" type of team.
I also hoped that if the Pistons "achieved" all time futility it would spark Gores to finally start to take out some of the trash that is associated with this team. There is so much organization wide ineptness associated with this franchise, the front office/the scouting department/the coaching staff/the roster/everything.
Unfortunately it sure looks like there aren't any imminent changes on the horizon, and now that the streak is over the Pistons have sunk back the depths of just being a run of the mill completely unremarkable type of terrible team, and just having a thoroughly un-interesting existence.
But hey, there's still plenty of time left in the season for the Pistons to break their own record losing streak...
