Trajon Langdon NO & BK Connections

Post#1 » by GreekAlex » Mon May 27, 2024 9:17 pm

With Trajon Langdon’s history with the Pelicans & Nets, one would think he has a good working relationship with the executives that were there during his tenure.

There’s not much I’d want from the Nets outside of Bridges but New Orleans has some intriguing options.

I wonder what it would take to get Trey Murphy. He’s going to be due a nice contract pretty soon and the Pelicans have some hard decisions to make.

What do you think it would take to acquire Murphy and are there any other players between the Nets & Pelicans worth pursuing (within reason)?

I love Herb Jones too but I don’t see a viable deal since he’s on a team friendly contract and they need all the value deals they can.

I know there’s been a lot of interest in Brandon Ingram but he’s often injured, shooting less 3’s and due a massive contract. Too much risk for my liking.

If I were a GM, I’d create a predictive analytics model to find under valued players based on 2 categories: availability & consistency.

How many games does the player average per season and how frequently is their performance closely aligned with their averages versus wild statistical swings (streaky stretches of play).

Everything coming from Pelicans fans is Murphy is untouchable and essentially pretty close to Herb Jones.

In my opinion our best shot at a connection through Langdon is replacing Monty with Atkinson.

I’d love to Get Kenny Atkinson. He seemed to do a great job developing the young talent in Brooklyn and I’m sure that he’s picked up some knowledge during his time with the Warriors.

I'd love to trade Ivy, Duren, 5th pick for Jones & Murphy. Sign Miles Bridges and Nicolas Claxton.

Some of y'all need to post your trades on the trade board and get some perspective. Chances are if it's a trade you'd love to do, it's because it's completely one-sided in our favor.

This would likely require the trade override setting to turned to on in NBA 2k.

I don't think the Pistons should trade any of their young players at this point, especially if they are considering firing Monte Williams. Everyone wants to dump Ivey/Duren for pennies right now, I think part of the problem with them was coaching related, especially Ivey, but Duren I think didn't progress defensively at all, might have been worse last year.

You have to ask yourself why the other team would want to do the trade. Herb Jones is on a bargain bin contract. He's the last guy they're going to want to trade so you'd have to blow their doors off with an offer for him, something no one would rationally want to give. Similar spot with Trey Murphy. There's just no reason why they'd look to trade these guys unless the offer was so absurd that they couldn't turn it down (we don't possess assets for this kind of offer).

It's the guys who've been around the block, the shine has worn off, and they're on an absurdly bloated contract that we can reasonably get with our assets.

Where have you seen a trade proposal that involved our getting pennies back for Ivey/Duren?
