I do not see how the Pistons are a bottom tier team anymore. Proper coach, proper GM, proper vets, proper young talent. The team should be a middling team for the year.
Bottom tier is 3-5 worst teams.
Unless injuries decimate the roster, this team should win 24-35 games.
Could the team surprise either way? Yeah, of course. No one, and I mean no one expected the Pistons to be as bad as they were last season, but that is a rarity.
I see no issue with the schedule to start the season if the team is as improved as I believe it is.
Hopefully. With sugar on top.

I’ll be ringing that all season for everyone on here if there’s no improvement. 27 wins basically tells me Bickerstaff is the same level as Casey and we wasted time changing coaches. The answer imo is to trade the youth at that point and keep flipping players for veterans ages 23-27 like Grimes Okoro Fontecchio and keep drafting best available like Holland.
26 games would be a 12 game improvement. If you expect Bickerstaff to come in and have us fighting for the play in you are going to be very disappointed. Irregardless of what happens, Monty was a horrendous coach.
Not expecting play in no. Only way to play in is Duren having a breakout season defensively and yeah we can definitely get there if he blows up on that end. I think he’ll get to under league average defense. He’s been no existent since he started in the league though. It’s the sole reason why we suck. It’s not because of Monty. Can say weaver cuz he never got veterans that can play and compete. Bickerstaff to me is another Casey. I don’t mind him I like him a lot given he managed Mitchell and garland and Allen and Mobley. Two high volume ball handlers and two nonshooting big men. He’s the right guy to get imo. I just don’t believe in the monty hate, I think he’s a good coach who just didn’t want to coach and weaver did everything in his power apparently to destroy the franchise. As for the 26 game win, I’ll say that’s due to health availability and veterans that can actually get on the court not because of coaching or internal improvement. Show me 30+, then I’ll believe. Otherwise I don’t see why we don’t drop to 24 games the year after this season lol. Fans will take anything as improvement these days, standards are so low, it’s like taking any girl from the streets, go ahead and marry her, you’ll lose. My point? I’m ringing it in everyone’s ear we should’ve kept Monty if I don’t see 27+ wins this season.
