I dunno, Bickerstaff must have his reasoning I suppose.

Yup. There's always (at least) one head-cratch in the rotation.

The Pistons could be a better running team if Ausar was playing (instead of THJ). When I read someone say they don't see him playing this year, it really bums me out. I think it's going to be a wait. It sucks, because this is important time to get in rhythm with new/old teammates, especially missing the end of last year, being a young guy. He had such a great rookie start.

It's alright. Preseason. I feel like he's gonna be Ausars backup once season starts.
Our bench should be nice.
Stew Fontecchio THJr Beasley and one of Cade or Ivey
Here's to hoping/praying Ausar is learning how to shoot 3s right now until he's approved to play
Duren Tobias Ausar Ivey Cade looks real nice
Reed Holland Sasser play in case of injury or foul and until we make our deadline trade

Edit-if Ausar can't get that 3 ready, then Fontecchio starts and Ausar off the bench

Dude has been brutal, sure. But it is just preseason and likely he is coasting and putting minimal effort in (granted, that is also not a reassuring feature). He's only 32 and didn't deal with any major injuries last season so it would be strange that his game would drop off so suddenly.

I think we need to give him the benefit of the doubt and wait for the regular season. If he's even close to this bad though then it's likely another Joe Harris situation where he barely plays and is cut at some point.

He's been shooting sub 38% since the all star break and was healthy scratched in the playoffs. Something's changed with him. Maybe he's secretly hurt or has the yips or something, but it's more than just a preseason sample size. He has time to prove otherwise but honestly all signs I see point to Joe Harris 2.0. Hope I'm wrong.
