Cade was shut down with only 7 games left.
Duren was shut down with only 2 games left.
Ivey wasn't shut down.
Sassar wasn't shut down.

I don't think that's a truly representative summary. Stewart was shut down in mid-March and Ausar just before him (note these two guys were our team leaders in on/off +/- for the season). Fontecchio also mid-March. Grimes played like 6 games after the trade deadline and was then shut down.
Yes we still would've sucked overall for the season if those guys were all active until the final game. But it's not outside of the realms of possibility that we would've won another 5 or so games and maybe had a bit more momentum heading into the off-season.
Those guys were injured, not 'shut down'. Lip was asserting we weren't trying to win games because guys were shut down.
And yes, it is outside the realm of possibility that we would have won an extra five games.

Depends on how you interpret the meaning of the word. Obviously there has to be a reason for shutting guys down which would generally be an injury.
Ausar wouldn't have played regardless as he had a serious blood clot issue, but I would argue if we were actually playing for something (i.e. competing for the play-in) that guys like Stewart and Fontecchio and perhaps even Grimes may have kept playing through their injuries a bit longer. Can't say that for certain of course, but when you look at the playoff teams there were a lot of players pushing through mild to moderate injuries to stay on the court for their teams.
The games over the last month or so that were close and we quite possibly would've won with a full cast were - March 17 vs Heat, March 24 vs Pelicans, April 1 vs Grizzlies, April 3 vs Hawks, April 6 vs Nets.
