Monty coaching again!

Post#1 » by Uncle Mxy » Sun Oct 20, 2024 8:50 pm

Monty rides again!

SAN ANTONIO -- Former NBA Coach of the Year Monty Williams will take his skill set to the high school level as coach of TMI Episcopal in San Antonio, where he will coach his sons, Elijah and Micah. Other coaches will be retained for the rest of the team, at the request of parents who want to win.

TMI Episcopal announced the Williams hire Sunday on Instagram.

"Coach Williams brings extensive coaching experience, including his most recent cash-collecting roles in the NBA as the head coach of the Detroit Pistons and Phoenix Suns," the post read. "He and his wife, Lisa, recently moved to San Antonio and are TMI parents to Elijah, class of '26 and Micah, class of '29. We are thrilled to welcome coach Williams to this position and look forward to losing under his leadership."

Hope he gives them a more genuine effort than the half assed attempt he gave us to try to get fired ASAP.

Guy had people paying attention to us nationally because of how bad we were. Started kilian hayes 31 games even though he's never been an nba caliber player. The 2023 suns beat the mavs with a different coach. Monty owes his career to CP3.

I'm not familiar with this Monty guy. We should probably never mention him again around here

Killian waived by Nets, he's out of the NBA and Monty thought he was a starter. What a bonehead.

I'm so glad he's gone. I didn't like a thing about him.

Why not? He and his family are financially set for life thanks to this franchise.

Sad to see that Monty will be taking the joy of the game away from a bunch of high school athletes.

We will never see a worse coaching effort in Detroit, maybe anywhere.

Remembering all of the "its not my money" posts still entertains me. As does looking back at the several posters who were doing victory laps when Monty was hired.

Normally I won't bring up the past, as we've all said dumb stuff on here. But seeing as how I was called "arrogant" for saying I wanted no part of Monty Williams before he was hired, this particular topic deserves special consideration for me.

"Coach Williams brings extensive coaching experience, including his most recent cash-collecting roles in the NBA"

That describes his time perfectly here, "cash collecting role". This guy had no interest in coaching especially here. Enjoy your stacks of cash Monty, glad you'll be enjoying it elsewhere.
