The early lone bright side to this 0-2 is the fact that Cade looks like a legit star. Not much to be excited about beyond that. I thought a bench unit with Stew + Font + Beasley would be much improve over the junk we've put out there in previous years and we'd have one of the better benches in the league this year but now I'm not so sure. It'll be interesting to see how out bench unit changes once Ausar gets back to it.

This game felt a lot like last year.

Tobias played like the guy the Sixers fans ran out of town. All of our bigs played scared. Fontecchio a complete non factor.
No update or timetable on Ausar.
JB yucking it up with his former players immediately after the game. No anger or embarrassment from him at all. You picture him going into the locker-room and lighting a fire under their ass??? How is this different than Monty.
F my life.

Nope. It doesn't matter if it looks exactly the same. It doesn't matter if it has the same root causes. You aren't allowed to state this. I mean even Ku is telling us it isn't.....
.... even though I... um... really don't see any difference.
We were out-manned and out-gunned today. No biggie. Just sleep it off and we'll go get the next one... against Boston...

Hard to get less out of $35M than Tobias and Font.

Some may be slower to admit it, but it's been clear for a while now that while very talented, Cade is not a PG. That's a dude who should be thinking score 1st, score 2nd and pass 3rd.the_l_train wrote:Getting spanked by dudes like Dean Wade and Ty Jerome is unacceptable.
This game is disgusting. About to lose by 60 tomorrow with an easy 30 point night from Peyton Pritchard.
We have zero point guards on this team. They are all shooting guards and we cant take care of the ball for ****.
I am usually very patient and a voice of reason with regime changes. I definitely believe in giving it ample time... but Holland/Tobias is NOT off to an impressive start, which isn't terribly surprising. I was definitely on the "pay Tyus" buss. We need a dude like that in the worst possible way.

Preach. Tyus is the exact dude I had in mind.
Hoping Trajan does not take a wait-and-see approach and gets a deal done for a PG as soon as possible. It would open up so much for Cade if he didn’t feel the need to run the show.
Not taking anything away from Ivey. He has been the 2nd biggest bright spot, and deserves to start still. I think we can get away with Cade at the 3 spot to start games, and let him slide to the 2 guard and play point depending on lineups. So worried about Cade running out of gas or getting hurt if we keep over extending him like this. Big picture I hope Ausar takes Tobis spot and has a respectable jumper by then.
Wonder what it would take to get Marcus Smart from Memphis right now. Not a ton of options out there.

Can't get too worked up after game 2, but Tobias and Tek have been pretty brutal to start. V Indy Harris missed a few open 3s when the game was in the balance at the end and today he just hasn't brought that reliable offense. I'm not getting my pitchfork out just yet, but he needs to do better if we ever want a w.
Ivey and cade have been pretty good so far. A few less TOs would be nice tho

These teams are better than us, on there opening home game. We’re playing better than last season, it’s a better team, still bottom 5 in the league likely though. This is a rough start to the season but I think Bickerstaff does want to succeed, and I think he gets these guys to the next level soon, but even when this current group turns the first corner we just become bottom five to a 8-12 seed type team, a lot would have to go right to be better than that

We’ll win more than 17 games.
This still looks comfortably like a bottom 5 team though. The shooting is better but my goodness the turnovers.
Cade had 9 turnovers. That’s not permissible. Not at this stage. His midrange looks money so far but his passing is tough so far. He’s scoring a lot but those turnovers chip into that- he’s giving them a lot of points back.
Stewart is still making rookie mistakes out there…

2 games in but I was wrong about Ivey and Duren. I thought Duren was just dogging it under Monty and was actually a good defender. Also I never thought Ivey and Cade could play together bc ivey was too erratic. Well 2 games in and preseason Ivey has played great and Duren is just as lost on defense.

I have many doubts:
- What's wrong with FONTECCHIO?
- Could STEWART be our substitute 5?
- Why did we choose HOLLAND instead of MATAS BUZELIS? It's the same as AUSAR, but worse.
- Can CADE protect the ball better? It can and should.

This is a roster designed to tank so I expect a lot more losses like the last two. Cade needs help, what else is new?
It looks like another year of heavy prospect scouting but at least this year should be a lot more fun with a MUCH better draft class and lots of college guys up there unlike last year.

I’ve been saying this since we fired Monty. If JB comes in and only get 24 wins, that’s not improvement, that’s just being healthy and having a competent roster that has spacing. So far Cade Ivey have shown improvement, Duren has not.

The right trade can change the team drastically and that’s whether we get a starting center or another starting forward.
