Ivey is looking great, on offense at least. That’s a serious defensive backcourt the Celtics have in Holliday and White, and Ivey was a problem for them. Saying anything else is just confirmation bias

Did you just kind of completely ignore the other threads discussing projected win totals for the Pistons a day or two before the season started? There was a very small minority of folks projecting less than 30 wins...

(Note: I think that the preseason betting line of 25.5 is right on the money)

Read somewhere Harris plus Reed for Randle

Minnesota would never do this but Randle would be the Player a team like us need

He makes more Money than Harris but he is productive....He was the man who turned the Knicks around....Not a player WHO would make us champs but the player who can get us wins with his stats

That was a good game. We kept fighting when we were down 20 and came back. I'm probably in the minority, but I think we'll see some wins coming soon. We just have to learn how to close games

I’d keep Harris, give up Stewart and Hardaway, cap relief for them and a young big on a good contract. Lineup would be Cade Ivey Harris Randle Duren. That’s a BIG starting lineup that can get to the Play In.

Ivey has been our best player so far

He has better advanced stats than Cade

Having watched the first couple games, Ivey is the most improved player. As Greg/Johnny Kane said during the broadcast, he's playing fast and under control, when in the past he just played fast. Cade looks solid, but mostly the same player, I'm not sure he's the guy who can close out games right now for you going 1 on 1.

Through preseason and the first three official games, Ivey has looked the most improved to my eyes and on paper, which is not something I saw coming. Cade is also noticeably better defensively and has often made scoring look easy.

Not understanding all the doom & gloom around these parts. In fact, this might be the first stretch Ivey & Cade have both looked good at the same time.

They crumble down the stretch constantly. It's the same old story, be competitive for a while then fold like a cheap deck of cards the moment the opposition decides to take the game seriously. Cade and Ivey put up points but they are generally terrible in the clutch (they're becoming empty stats guys) and the support players, outside of Beasley who might as well be Bogey, are trash. THJ and Harris have no business being starters on a viable roster at this point in their careers.
Not much to get excited about, Cade is in his 4th year, Ivey and Duren in Year 3, at some point wins should be expected otherwise what's the point of all this. Moral victories get very boring when you're 4-5 years into a rebuild.

In any event, they played 3 far superior teams to start the season so losses were expected but the team looks pretty much the same to my eye. We'll see when the Pistons play fellow tankers if they can get a win or two.

couldn't watch the game yesterday but if i didn't know that we lost by 6 and read this thread i would think we lost by 30.

i know we're all impatient to get some wins but we've played three good opponents and two of those games have been competitive. that's a huge step up from last year. incremental improvement doesn't always show up in wins, but they will come.

I didn't get to watch the game but how does a pg have 9 tov and then follow it up with 7 tov make it make sense

I do believe that locker room thinks it couldve garnered a W against those Celts.
That alone is positive when considering the Celts are EC favorites this year.
I believe they will start turning some of these contests into wins.
The squad is still adjusting to playing together and the TO's should decrease imo..

Beasley should be starting over Hardaway, thats an improvement on both ends that can be made quickly.

Who the **** would want to be part of this miserable conversation?

This is the problem with this board. The most vocal are generally the most negative. It makes for terrible reading and a terrible experience overall.

We lost a close one to the defending champs who were on fire from three. Granted, we had a late lead and didn't capitalize to get the win. But the team is showing improvement overall. They're certainly not the same team from last season.
