That ending, where neither Cade or Ivey knew if they should be the one to get that ball/rebound for the quick bucket was brutal. I didn't watch any of the post game interviews but looks like they needed to communicate better and we could have tied it up. Just hurts as a fan to see them both have the opportunity, without a shot even being taken.

We were really good at missing FTs in a way that they went to us.

Have to give credit to Eason, he was a menace on defense all night while also hitting some big shots.

Yes, I would love him here as our starting SF once we move on from THjr next year. He's been getting 21 MPG for them off the bench but hitting 40% from deep I feel like he's a player from the 2022 draft (like Ivey and Duren) who if he doesn't get an extension this summer should be a guy we look at going after as a FA. I think he's better than Ivey or Duren when it comes to winning basketball at this point.

Edge of the seat stuff again with a disappointing end, but that's sport and a year ago this kind of experience wasn't even on the cards. We're way beyond where we were last year and should only improve.

We'll get more of this sort of thing, some going in our favour and some not, but we are a credible outfit by the looks of things and this season has a real meaning to it.

You could tell neither team thrilled to be playing a matinee. As great as Ivey has played recently, you could see him struggle against a good defense. Detroit's younger players are better than Houston's, but Houston's supporting class - young and old - are better than Detroit's.

That said, to me this came down to turnovers. Pistons just get that number to be around 13 or 14 a game and these tight games come out more in their favor. One less sloppy drive by Ivey and one less careless backdown by Cade where someone steals the ball a game, and Pistons have a five hundred record or better.

By far Ivey’s worst game this year. Out of control and out of sync.

Hate to lose but another game where we played well enough to win at the end.

The thing about being an absolute dumpster fire for years on end is that none of the young guys learn to close out games. We are going to see a bunch more close loses this year and hopefully we can start learning from them.

Awesome to see us competing down to the wire in most of our games so far this year. That level of competition plus a likely high draft pick is probably the best of both worlds we needed this season.
