What's our best most balance starting lineup if everyone is healthy? Which hopefully will be in the case in a few days when Ausar gets back?
I'm on the fence between these two.
C Stewart
F Harris
F Ausar
G Cade
G Ivey

I say we roll with the first and let Stewart go back to last year’s 3PA volume

Could commit to small ball and play Ausar at the 4 in that lineup and have Beasley in at the 3. Right now Beasley is shooting it the best on our team, so hard to envision our best lineup not including him. That'll probably change over time as other shooters get hotter and he gets colder. Harris needs to find his shot. If he were shooting well from the outside, that alone would have us over .500 right now.

Cade
Ivey
Beasley
Ausar
Stewart
Ausar is an absolute beast defensively, and on the glass. (You can see the direct impact he has on Cades rebounding numbers when he's on the floor. It's crazy) He would solve a ton of issues, but also present a few. That's why Stewart starts. He can also stretch the floor, and is excellent defensively.
If Ausar can shoot the ball, he immediately becomes an ALL-NBA caliber player, and the team can mix lineups. In today's NBA, you cannot play 2 non-shooting players in a 5 man lineup. We've all seen that movie.

Could change, but right now this sounds correct. It's either Tobias or Beasley as the 5th starter and right now Beasley is on fire.zeebneeb wrote:Cade

Man I bet Tobias is happy to be out of Philadelphia right now.

Stewart/Ausar is a rough combination offensively and Cade/Ivey/Beasley is rough defensively, but there's definitely a certain logic to this lineup.
We aren't at the stage where we can run an objectively good starting lineup without obvious weaknesses. It's hard to defend Tobias starting given the way he's been playing, but at the same time I doubt we actually bench him.

It is weird that any lineup configuration always includes Tobias, isn’t it? I probably put him in no matter what too, but the fact that nobody even questions it just shows how valuable his archetype is to this team even if the shots aren’t currently falling.

Cade, Ivey, Beasley.....
and like most of us, im uncertain the best shuffle of Tobias, Stew and Auser, but it seems like these are our best 6.
Duren, Tek, THJ need to show me they are interested in winning or just want paychecks?
Im seeing a glass half full though, we take care of bizness against Charlotte next and were potentially the 5th seed in the East!
Cades potentially a PG reserve on the All Star squad imo. And I look at a team that is only improving each month here.

I haven't seen specific numbers on it yet, but the eye test (and our team defensive rankings) suggest Cade (especially) and Ivey are both improved on defense this year.
