Tanking is for rats.

Give me the the team claws for every loose ball, that fights for every second on every possesion.

You'll get none of the above competitors from a ****, slacker, weak minded, lack of character tankass culture.

We aint blowing up ****, we are moving up, one fistfight at a time.

I have a friend who's a casual NBA fan say to me the other day "wow, the Pistons already have 8 wins and are in play-in contention, pretty cool that they're finally competing".

Imagine if I turned to him and said "no, there's too much risk we're going to become a mediocre team, so we should trade away all our talent so we can be terrible again for the next 4-5 years".

Hooray a casual is surprised we aren't the worst team in the league. Let's be grateful for a most likely mediocre 7-10 seed team like we had before the rebuild .

It took us five years but we’re back! Thinking Gores will hang a banner for our next play-in appearance

I'm so tired of hearing about "blowing it up".. Or "Tanking".. You want to be a 15-win season every year I guess.

Also how a few posters seem reasonably convinced our core only has a lower playoff seed ceiling.

Wish I was able to know the future with such certainty.

Around 2002, I remember on Pistonstalk, people were saying how we needed to blow it up. We won a title 2 yrs later. You have to build on something. We had 13 or 14 lottery picks in the last 15 years and haven't won ****. I recommend fans look back at the last 15-20 years of lottery picks and see how a majority are busts.

Assuming you're talking 2001-2002 season - we were the 2nd seed in the east. Not exactly coming off a historically bad season.

And we did blow it up, but when you're a 2 seed, blowing it up means something different than when you are the worst team in the league. We blew it up by drastically changing the roster. How many of those 2001-2002 Pistons hoisted the trophy? The answer is 2.
