I feel like Amen Thompson's breakout in Houston should be the blueprint for what Ausar could become for us. Right now Amen is the second best player on a team that is second in the loaded West. If we have a player of that caliber along with an improving Ivey then it's definitely building towards something.

Is Amen really their second best player? Isn't he coming off the bench?

I've only seen a few of their games but Rockets fans seem to think so. He's coming off the bench but playing 27 MPG. His advanced stats are very impressive and only Sengun has a better WS/48 and BPM than him.

What role is he playing? And how are they using him on offense? Figuring out how to use Ausar successfully on offense seems like the biggest puzzle with him.

They're not the same player. Have always played differently.

I think they are pretty similar. Even though Amen is listed as a guard, I think his best role is playing the 4. He's a better ballhandler, but doesn't shoot so he usually plays the dunker spot (at least thats what he did last year). The minute one of their starters get hurt, Amen will replace him cause he can literally play all 5 positions. I think he's the best athlete in the league, and he has incredible versatility, but the only place where I see a huge diff is Amen is a better ballhandler (and straight up better player, but lets give Ausar some time to come back soon).
