Paul Reed Waived

Javante McCoy just got waived. End of an era. I really liked how he took the money so we won’t get penalized. There was also that time last night, where I googled who he was and what position he plays

I wish I hadn't bought his jersey now.

We could have lost Paul Reed to another team... there must not be much of a market out there for him even at a minimum salary deal.

There’s only a handful of teams with an open roster spot (us, Atlanta, and Miami are the ones I can think of). Of those teams, they would have to be able claim a player making ~$5.2 million. So any other team would have cut someone to claim Reed. So whatever dead money and/or risking a potential prospect to take a look at Reed.

He was free to sign with any team he wanted to once he cleared waivers.

I guess I missed that part, maybe he just really likes it here

He basically got a $32,000 bonus to say he was a Piston for a little bit. He didn’t even have to show up or anything. Just wondering if Langdon picked someone in advance or cold called people.

This made me legit laugh out loud because now I'm really wondering if all those missed calls I got from this strange area code was Langdon calling me with his New Orleans area code still. Lolololol

Or he just didn't feel like paying to find a new place to live for the exact same amount of money he would get elsewhere. You have to assume Langdon talked with Reed and his agent before all this stuff went down to know what Reed was going to do.
