Boban joins the Lions

Post#1 » by Uncle Mxy » Mon Jan 6, 2025 12:31 pm

Goff has no excuses now. Heck, he should be able to see Boban all the way from China. If the Lions sign Tobias, they might just have a winning team.

Lions (CBA) landed experienced 36-year old Serbian ex-international 224cm center Boban Marjanovic. He supposed to play at Fenerbahce in Turkish BSL league. In 7 games he averaged 10.1ppg, 4.9rpg and 1.6apg this season. He helped them to make it to the cup final. Marjanovic also played 6 games in Euroleague where he had 4.0ppg and 3.5rpg. The last season he played at the Rockets in NBA.
He was also a member of the Serbian international program for some years. Marjanovic played for Serbian Senior National Team between 2008 and 2022 and previously for the Under 20 National Team back in 2008.
He also represented Serbia at the FIBA World Cup 2023 European Qualifiers two years ago. His team won Silver and he had over 5 points per game.
Marjanovic is a very experienced player. He has played also in Lithuania (Zalgiris), Russia (PBC CSKA Moscow and BC Pari Nizhny Novgorod), Turkey, NBA (Dallas Mavericks, Detroit Pistons, LA Clippers, Philadelphia 76ers and San Antonio Spurs), Serbia (Crvena zvezda, Vrsac, BC Mega MIS Beograd and KK Radnicki 1950 Kragujevac) and NBA G League (Austin Spurs).
Among many awards he was voted to Eurobasket.com All-European Championship (FIBA EuroBasket) Honorable Mention back in 2017.
Marjanovic is close to retirement age as a player. It may be one of last seasons in his extensive career,

I think it's just possible that's a different Lions. :-P

At first I thought this was one of those tall guys who try to block the 50+ yard field goals by the crossbar types of things.

That would be awesome! Interior line would be great as well. He might not be a great run stopper but he would knock down a lot of passes

And while we’re totally going off topic, I’m surprised we haven’t tried Sewell at edge for a few plays.

I love Penei, put him in Canton right now as far as I see it.

These broadcasters never have the O-Line get the after game interview. They dont get the Grit culture at all repeatedely interviewing the same skill positions over and over.
Grit culture "gets" that we love our O-Line.

Back of thier coin says "In God we Trust", back of mine says "In Penei we Trust", thats Motown Grit.
