We went out there and took care of business against the depleted Nets. It's the sign of a good team that we kept our foot on the pedal and didn't let it become a close game in the later stages.

Good to see Cade get some short minutes. Also good to see a high impact Sasser game, and for Beas to bounce back.
Tek, too.

I can't speak for this game because I didn't watch it, but as a whole the team has such better chemistry this season. Probably the best for a long time.Cowology wrote:Aight, so let's reflect for just a minute on the maturation. Showed up to a game we should have won. Responded every time BKN made a run. We closed this game like a good team should. We're playing with swag.
In the past we'd have played down, let them hang around and probably collapse in the 4th.
The young guys are leading the charge and the vets are not only contributing but they seem to be actively supporting the young guys too. I didn't really get that vibe from Burks, bogie and who ever else was here in the past.
It goes a long way

And they beat us twice.... We also have a bettor record than Philly, Phoenix, and Golden State... and we have the same # of wins(19) as Minny whom we just beat during our 5 game streak. Seems crazy for sure.

The team plays so cohesively. It’s fun to watch. This is my favorite team since the 6 game winning streak Jennings era

I saw before the game that the Pistons were 9.5 point favorites on the road and thought it was a typo then I saw the Nets lineup and understood why, that's a lineup designed for major tankage. Regardless, the Pistons took care of business and having Cade at 23 minutes is important going forward to keep him fresh for more important games.

man i really loved this move. cade's taken a big leap with his creative ball handling and he's using spins and behind the back dribbles functionally to get to where he wants.

MIL started the season absolutely dreadfull. It felt sorta bad to lose to them, but it was also right when they had sorta corrected the ship and in retrospect it makes sense. They still got issues, but for sure were never a bottom 5 team despite paying like one for a minute.bstein14 wrote:MortSahlfan wrote:I can't believe we have more wins than Milwaukee.. I keep going back to our road record. Wild to essentially be .500 at this stage. It doesn't make sense.
We've talked a bit about the vet leadership from THj, Tobias etc, but one of my favorite things this year was a quote from Beasley just talking about how he was gonna go hang with Ivey and play some games to keep his spirits up. For sure a different from years past. No disrespect to the Bogeys & Burkes, but dVs was 100% right about this teams comraderie and I'm loving it. They play for each other. That's huge.

There we go. Now you see why I've been calling for someone else (who's not on the roster, unfortunately) to run the point while Cade's on the floor. Off-ball Cade is a dangerous thing.

One thing you can say about Tobias is that he doesn't care at all about "getting his" he really just takes what comes to him. Other guys who have been our top paid players (like Bojan and Grant) have had the ball go to them a lot, and perhaps that is by coaches design because of who they were, but overall Tobias has had several games with just a few attempts and he's never upset about it. It probably helps he has earned a ton of money in his career and doesn't need to worry about another contract at this point so all he does is be a good teammate and take what comes to him. He's fine with the younger guys getting the ball in the big moments. He's fine in that 3rd/4th option role even though he's the guy making the most money this season.

Tobias is (or is near) the highest character guy in the whole league. Incredible charity work, never a bad thing said about him.
He’s also quiet, not an on-court leader, and in many cases, not assertive.
That’s just who he is. Fits well if you aren’t asking too much of him, which we aren’t.
