Yeah, I think some people got too excited. The team is still basically Cade and some role players, especially with Ivey out. It just looks fantastic compared to the Gleague roster we rolled out last year. If you compare us to the actual contenders, we still need another all-star level 2-way guy and some key role player type pieces - backup pg, shot blocking big etc.

Ivey is a role player too ....


Maybe it's splitting hairs, but if you can toss the ball to the guy and just let him create offense, I'm not sure that's how I would define a roll player. That's not the same as "this guy rebounds" and "that guy shoots 3's". That doesn't make him a star or anything, but it's a different level of offensive involvement.

Interesting that role player vs not is only determined on the offensive side. Probably realistically how the league works though.

By your definition, Tobias is more than a role player. Ausar and Holland have shown flashes as well. Sasser can create, but only for himself.
