Ausar is something special for sure. Turning into a playmaking bully.

Another fun thing to note… this massive blowout gave us a positive point differential on the year. I’m guessing it’s been a long, long time since that was true at game 54.
EDIT: can’t exactly check that possible fact, but the last time we had a positive point differential for the season was 15-16.

Regarding Ausar; go back to the very beginning of last season. The team got off to a 2-1 start and he was being productive.
7 reb, 3 ast, 5 blk
13 reb, 6 ast & 1 blk
9 pts (3-7, 12 rebs, 5 ast, 1 blk, 1 stl
15 pts (6-14), 10 rebs, 3 ast, 1 stl, 3 blk
16 pts (8-14), 7 rebs, 2 ast, 2 stl
16 pts, 7 rebs, 5 ast, 1 blk
14 pts, 9 rebs, 4 ast, 4 stl, 4 blk
That's his first 7 games, as a starter averaging over 30 mpg. It looked like, based on his defense, he could actually lead the team in minutes. This went on for a while, but the team as a whole went on to lose 28 games in a row. On the other side of that mess, when the team picked up it's next win, it was with Ausar coming off the bench for 12 minutes with very little impact. He was not the same after that. And then of course his health played a factor after that, but I really think we **** this kid up a bit his rookie year.

Ausar is looking better and better. He's probably a tighter handle, and incrementally improved jumper away from a legit 2-way starter. He's just got so much upside with his feel for the game and elite physical gifts. There is a world where he's an all-star level wing in 3 years.

Sasser and Reed aren't even in the regular rotation and they're quality players. The biggest issue was/is high end talent. For a while it's been Cade and a cast of "others" although Beasley has been a worthy offensive sparkplug but with Ausar ascending and the addition of Schroder the roster looks a lot more dangerous. Still, it's been a relatively easy slate of games, we'll see what they're really made of when the schedule toughens up post-All Star break but for now this is a lot of fun.
100% Sasser and Reed are better than players we've had in the rotation playing major minutes the last four years like Hayes, Wiseman, Bagley, etc.

Re: #54 - Pistons@Bulls - 8pm ET
The stat I enjoyed the most was that Cade had no turnovers. For the first time this year. Granted, he still has more games with ten turnovers than zero turnovers. But its a start, hopefully.
I sure do like Ausar in the backcourt. He's a future DPOY.
