On Sirius they mentioned having the losing team pay for dinner lol. Actually makes more sense than just throwing more money at,these guys. They're all so rich but something like this would at least get them competitive.
East vs West. Hope for the best. Get rid of dunk contest.
3pt though should definitely not favor including the all stars. Just have the best shooters. Even invite gleague and wnba to make it interesting

I didn’t mind the old format. Yeah they score a **** ton, watching curry win mvp like 3-4 years ago was pretty sweet, he was on fire from 3. Giannis the one year just dominating. It is what it is, what they did this year was fucjed up. 40 total minutes of ball and the rest bull out of 3hrs? I liked the halftime thing, kid shooting vs lilliard. Not sure there’s a better way to fix the laziness, but watching 20-30 minutes of bs then 4 quarters of the best players having some fun isn’t to bad, but to each there own. I didn’t see the Jordan all star games, Kobe/shaq a little, i get them just taking a break and relaxing, it’s fine by me. They still ball but no d, kinda like the league today lol

I mean. Would you feel satisfied if Cade had a few more minutes in a single game and still lost because others on his team played badly? (which is what actually happened).

Smaller teams means more games to get to the end / crown a winner, etc. Which then means that more players will only get to play a single game / fraction of a game etc.

More games either means a longer running time for the ASG (there definitely is wiggle room here at the expense of the disproportionate number of commercials this year) or making each of the individual games shorter / have a smaller point threshold.

I'd cut all the other stuff and just have the tourney games. Just narrow it down to 9 all-stars per conference and you could create three teams of 6 and do 1 team of Rising Stars and play three games that are like as long as a half.

That's never going to happen as long as there are contract incentives for being named to the all-star team.

NBA All-Star Game second least watched ever and the NBA All-Star Saturday Night also fell in the ratings, averaging 3.4 million viewers, the least-watched iteration of the event.

I didn't watch any of it. Was going to watch some of the young stars stuff, but then didn't care enough to wait for Ausar to play. *shrug* It's a circus. If that's your thing nothing wrong with that. Plenty of people enjoy the circus and I'm perfectly fine knowing that not everything has to be made to suit my tastes.

The NBA wants the weekend to be an event. It really is more akin to a carnival. The show has come to town! All the pre-All Star game events are side shows & spectacles. The main event is more Globetrotter/streetball. Guys having fun and putting on a show for the crowd but most guys aren't taking it too seriously and nobody wants to get injured. I have no clue how this new format actually played out, but it sounded horrible. Probably just me being grumpy old-man who doesn't like change, but it sounded dumb. Whatever.

Same.. Every time I put it on, it was a commercial, or something non-basketball on the court.. In the 3-day weekend, I saw a few seconds of Ausar, a minute of Cade, and I saw the dunk/3pt off and on. 5-10 minutes max.
